G-Force, Gary Moore/London, UK 1980

G-Force was a short-lived band in Gary Moore’s long career, with only one album and a single, and a one-off gig on the UK tour supporting Whitesnake from June 1st to 24th, 1980, so the recordings left behind are limited due to the short duration of the band. Meanwhile, this recording of the Hammersmith Odeon performance in London on June 23rd, 1980, at the end of the UK tour supporting Whitesnake, was recorded from a good audience master at the time. First, Gary’s guitar and Willie’s twin vocals explode from the opening “Back On The Streets”, followed by three consecutive songs from the only album: “Because Of Your Love”, “Dancin'”, and “You Kissed Me Sweetly”. And “Parisienne Walkways” was before it became a standard, and the long choking was still short, so be sure to check it out as you can hear it in its early arrangement. As an added bonus, the band’s final club gig in London on July 1st is also included, although only up to the middle of the show. Although “Because Of Your Love” and “Dancin'” were later featured in Gary Moore & Friends’ live shows, “You Kissed Me Sweetly” was never recorded after this performance, and “She’s Got You,” which was not performed at the main Hammersmith concert, is also included, making this a must-listen rare collector’s edition. 1.
