Description
On June 5, 1988, the live performance at “ROCK AM RING” held at the Nürburgring in Germany was completely recorded as an ultra-high quality stereo line recording for 1 hour and 54 minutes from the local broadcast master. In April 1987, Fleetwood Mac released “Tango In The Night,” their first album in five years since “Mirage,” but Lindsey Buckingham left the band immediately after the album was released. Instead, they will tour as a six-piece band, including two guitarists, Rick Vito and Billy Barnett. (This is a large-scale live performance with chorus and keyboard support members also included.) The tour was held mainly in North America from October to December 1987, and in the United Kingdom from May to June 1988. In Europe, they held four concerts in Sweden, Germany, and the Netherlands, one of which was this festival live at “ROCK AM RING.” At that time, this performance was broadcast live on Germany’s SWR3 radio station, and this album contains the take. Unlike direct-to-the-desk line recording, this is a radio sound source, so the sound is well mixed. The sound is a little rounded, but it is fresh and easy to listen to. Stevie’s solo hit “Stand Back”, which was one of the selling points of the 1987/88 tour, was played in the latter half of the show, but the radio station was broadcasting traffic information, so that part (around 1:55 ) will make a cut. The two new guitarists fill in the gap left by Lindsey and successfully support them with their powerful and technical guitars typical of the late 80’s. You can also listen to many songs recorded in “Tango In The Night” and enjoy a set unique to this period with high sound quality. World Turning, which lasted nearly 20 minutes, was filled with a sense of freedom that could only be expected from an outdoor concert, and was unique to this day. This is a must-have for fans who can enjoy a high-quality line recording of Fleetwood Mac’s 1988 live performance, which pursues a commercial route and enjoys a large-scale and gorgeous sound.
