Description

This 56-minute recording of a live performance at Long Beach Arena on April 15th from the 1973 US tour was taken from the master audience tapes owned by Barry Goldstein, who has been much talked about in recent years. First of all, along with Mike Millard, his collection, which has recorded many live performances as a taper in the 70s, has been made public in recent years, and the lineup and quality of the collection has become a hot topic. This time, from the earliest recordings from 1973, when he is said to have started recording concerts, Mac’s live performance on the US tour where he opened for Purple has been recorded directly from a high-quality audience master. This was a rare period after Peter Green’s departure, when Bob Welch took the lead and welcomed Dave Walker as vocalist. The album mainly features songs from the album “Penguin,” as well as “Get Like You Used To” sung by Christine McVie, “Night Watch,” a new song at the time, sung by Welch, and “In the Country,” a fierce guitar battle between Welch and the other guitarist, Bob Weston. As a live recording of this short-lived and valuable lineup, this is an extremely rare gem. Live at Long Beach Arena, Long Beach, CA, USA 15th April 1973 1. Introduction / Tune-Up 2.
