Description

EUROPE during the “OUT OF THIS WORLD” era was at its peak. The best soundboard album is now available. There are two performances included in this work. “London performance on April 1, 1989” and “Rotterdam performance on April 4th” three days later. This is a live album that records the European tour exactly 30 years ago. How was it at its peak back then? First, let’s check the show’s position on the tour schedule at the time. ●July 16th – August 7th, 1988: North America #1 (16 performances) August 9th “OUT OF THIS WORLD” released》・August 9th-21st: North America #2 (10 performances)・November 26th-December 20th: Asia #1 (10 performances)・1989・January 10th-April 5th Sun: Europe (59 performances) ←★Coco★ ・August 19: Milton Keynes performance ・September 17: West Hollywood performance ●1990, February 25th + 26th: Chile (2 performances), November 22nd – December 8th: Asia #2 (9 performances) This is the overall picture of “OUT OF THIS WORLD TOUR”. It was a gigantic tour that spanned three years, and was literally a world tour, covering North America, Europe, Asia, and South America. Among them, the “European” leg was the centerpiece with the most performances. The two performances of this work were the final concerts, which were the 56th and 58th performances. Now, let’s introduce each one individually. [Disc 1: London performance on April 1, 1989 (12 songs)] First of all, the stereo sound board recorded at the traditional British venue “Hammersmith Odeon”. This is already the best! The recording, mix, and master freshness are all official quality. It is also not a random mix that seems to be on the B side of the single, but a super superb sound board of official regular release grade. There’s no point in saying anything like 4 or 5 things in front of this sound. The show is delicious, with a quality that makes you want to say, “Please listen to it!” Although the set is selected from everything from the debut to the latest work, the main focus is clearly the masterpiece “OUT OF THIS WORLD”. As expected, there are some selections from “The Final Countdown”, but only two songs from the beginning are “Stormwind” and “Seven Doors Hotel”. After that, it’s just the “OUT OF THIS WORLD” number, and the six songs, which are half of the album, are big hits. Among the most valuable are “Lights and Shadows” and “Tower’s Callin’.” Both are hidden masterpieces that have only been played on “OUT OF THIS WORLD TOUR”, and you can listen to them with the super-excellent sound of the official masterpiece. [Disc 2: Rotterdam performance on April 4, 1989 (15 songs)] The replacement disc 2 is the performance in the Netherlands three days later. This is a step down compared to the transcendental quality of Disc 1, but it is still a noiseless and glossy sound board. As long as you don’t compare it to Disc 1, it’s a great item that can stand alone. And its strength is its length. Disc 1 had 12 songs and was about 58 minutes, but this one has 15 songs and is about 72 minutes. There are many songs that overlap, but there are still plenty of songs that can’t be heard on disc 1, such as “Danger On The Track,” “Ready Or Not,” “Just The Beginning,” “Sign Of The Times,” and “I’ve Got A Feeling.” “Just The Beginning” of “OUT OF THIS WORLD” is also a rare song only for this tour, but “I’ve Got A Feeling” is even more rare. Although it is a Beatles cover, EUROPE has only played this song several times. What’s more, instead of playing around or playing a cappella, which is common with rare songs, the band performs properly for about 4 minutes. You can enjoy such rare songs on the sound board. Here, let’s organize the famous songs that can be enjoyed in total from the two performances. ●“Fantastic Symphonic Poem” “Wings to Tomorrow”・Seven Doors Hotel (DISC 1 only), Stormwind (DISC 1 only) ●“THE FINAL COUNTDOWN”・Carrie, Rock The Night, The Final Countdown・On The Loose (DISC 1 only), Danger On The Track (DISC 2 only) ●“OUT OF THIS WORLD”・Let The Good Times Rock, Lights and Shadows, More Than Meets the Eye, Open Your Heart, Tower’s Callin’, Superstitious・Ready Or Not (DISC 2 only), Just The Beginning (DISC 2 only), Sign Of The Times (DISC 2 only) ●Cover・I’ve Got A Feeling (DISC 2 only)…and it looks like this. As you can see, it is an “OUT OF THIS WORLD” paradise. In total, you can enjoy live versions of 9 of the album’s 12 songs in total during the two performances, and of course, the guitar is played by Key Marcelo, who is an excellent guitar player! Of course, speaking of EUROPE, it is John Norum, but Marcelo’s smooth guitar is still wonderful, and the masterpieces that shine with an urban sensibility are unforgettable. Even now, there are still people who say, “OUT OF THIS WORLD is better than THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!” and others who say, “Marcelo was the best fit for Joey’s voice and melody.” It is a superb soundboard album that directly answers such feelings. This 2-disc set is the closest to the “live stage version of OUT OF THIS WORLD”.
