Description
It’s been 30 years since I left now. A dream night in which Elton John and Mark Knopfler also participated has been decided to be released. This work includes the 25th anniversary Japan tour that took place in 1988. This is a multi-camera professional shot of “November 2, 1988: Tokyo Dome”, which was also a symbolic performance. Although it’s too late now, let’s first recall the memories from 30 years ago on the “25TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR” schedule.・October 31st: Nagoya Rainbow Hall ・November 2nd: Tokyo Dome [This work] ・November 4th: Nippon Budokan ・November 5th: Osaka Stadium A total of 4 performances. It was Elton’s first visit to Japan in 14 years, and Knopfler’s last visit to Japan. And the Tokyo Dome performance of this work is truly a highlight. Clapton also stood on this stage when he accompanied George Harrison two years later, but it was also the only “Clapton show” at Tokyo Dome. Such shows have been recorded in numerous records such as TV broadcasts, radio broadcasts, leaked pro shots, and the best audience recordings, but this work is the professional shot of the TV broadcast version that brings the most nostalgia. I think there are many people who watched it only because it was a classic video that received attention from that time, but this video is still amazing. Although it is not a full show as it is edited according to the broadcast time of about 83 minutes, the camera work and mix are perfectly official quality, and it is suitable for a super luxurious co-star. The quality is stunning, as if the prestige of the Japanese Western music scene at the time was at stake. And, the master freshness of this work is also great. Of course, it is an air check of period-style analog recording, but there is no deterioration over time or dubbing marks on the screen, and the vivid and glossy colors are exactly as they were at the time. It is a beautiful image that vividly brings back memories of being glued to the cathode ray tube. A show drawn with that quality still warms my heart. The composition is a regular set by Clapton & Knopfler in the first half, and the main corner of Elton, who appears in the middle, is placed in the middle. In the second half, Clapton plays the leading role again, with Elton included. Unlike regular shows, the core blues songs are restrained, and plenty of gorgeous hit songs are played. Although it is unfortunate that “Money For Nothing” played with Knopfler & Alan Clark has been cut, you can also see four Elton Corner songs. Even more gorgeous than that set is the all-star ensemble. When they came to Japan in 1987, one year before this, they had a simple 4-piece band and there was a huge difference in show performance, but this year they had a large 9-piece band with a female chorus. Moreover, Clapton himself is wonderful. There’s plenty of spirit, and wonderful phrases and stable vocals pop out one after another. There is also the 25th anniversary, but perhaps the gorgeous co-stars were the driving force. Even though Elton and Knopfler took the trouble to participate, there was no way they would show their unseemly side. Even in the luxurious lineup, it is definitely the show where Clapton himself shines the most. The night of the 25th anniversary, which was realized 30 years ago. The dazzling and luxurious co-starring, Clapton’s repeated splendid performances, and our memories of being intoxicated by such miracles… They are 83 minutes drawn with the highest quality multi-camera professional shots.
