Description

Completely recorded with high-quality audience recording of the Seattle performance on June 24th, the last day of the 1979 US tour. Uses the popular JEMS sound source. The sound source itself has been circulating among tape traders for several years, but in recent years, a remastered version by JEMS has been digitally transferred, and its amazing quality has already become a hot topic in various quarters. I think you can understand the certainty of the sound quality just from that. This is a very high quality monaural recording with a dynamic sound recorded using a Norwegian Tandberg reel-to-reel deck and a Sony microphone. By applying advanced remastering to it, we have dramatically improved the sound dropout by reviving the high range that was lost due to excessive hiss reduction in the original master with exquisite balance. As a result, the unnaturalness of the noise reduction master is eliminated, and you can clearly see the difference in the clarity of the sound from the original master just by listening to the cheers of the audience at the beginning. In the performance part, as you can see, especially if you listen to the hi-hat sound, the overall sound has been transformed into a clear, balanced, and expansive natural sound. Regarding the content, the meaning of this performance was extremely important in the following two points. One of the reasons is that it was the last stage for Clapton’s backing band, the Tulsa Tops, who have supported Clapton since 1974. In other words, it was the last moment Clapton and Karl Radle stood on stage together. Second, it was a tour in which the late Muddy Waters, who shared a father-son cup with Clapton, served as the opening act, and for the encore, Muddy the Great and harmonica player Jerry Portnoy, who was in Muddy’s band at the time, played the lead role. He joined the Clapton Band) and joined the band. Clapton announces Maddy as “My Father!” and calls him to the stage. The final performance in front of Maddy. For some reason, I didn’t play “Layla” on that day, but the heated stage where he put all his energy into it is something that not only Clapton but also blues fans should listen to at least once. This is a must-listen for fans who can enjoy a historic live performance with great content and the best sound. Live at Seattle Center Coliseum, Seattle, WA.
