Description
This edition is from the UK tour that took place from July 29th to August 17th, 1976 in support of the album “NO REASON TO CRY”, and includes a good version of the concert held in Plymouth, a port city in the south of England, on August 3rd, 1976. This is a 1CD recorded with a monaural soundboard recording. As you can see from the number of songs, the recording is incomplete, but the “delicious” parts are thoroughly recorded, and it contains rare numbers, making it compact, easy to listen to, and worth listening to. The flowing and sharp solo in Further On Up The Road, the aggressive long solo in Tell The Truth, and although it fades out after 11 minutes, there is a solo that turns sharp even in the dull mood of Ramblin’ On My Mind. , is the most interesting part of this album. As long as you listen to these, you can see that Clapton was doing well on this day (Ramblin’ On My Mind changed the key on the way and medleyed to Going Down Slow). What is unusual is that Yvonne Elliman, who was enrolled as a female vocalist at this time, was absent, and Kelly Worsell (a female singer whose name seems to be) participated in the spot instead. Her song can be heard on the second chorus of Tell The Truth. Also, in the solo at the end of this song, George Terry, the second guitar player, intertwines phrases from Jimi Hendrix’s Voodoo Chile and hits Clapton with a wah-wah solo. It was very unusual for Clapton to include temporary members in the band during his long live career, and it can also be said that it is a sound source that shows that he guaranteed a considerable degree of freedom to the members. Another female singer, Marcy Levy, is featured on Innocent Times, a number co-written with Clapton. It is also very rare that this song was performed live. This song and All Our Past Times are included in “NO REASON TO CRY” and are attracting attention as they expressed the mood of the album, which adopted a country taste, on the live stage at the time. This is a good album that contains a good mix of the band’s taste at that time, rare numbers, and Clapton’s crisp play, and is compactly compiled.
