Description

This 2CD is a complete recording of the first half of the band’s performance in Manchester, England, in superb stereo audience recording, from the 2006 tour, which most Clapton fans say was the most rewarding band of all time. What’s amazing about this band is their face. Derek Trucks participated on guitar, and it was a triple guitar formation including Clapton with Doyle. The rhythm section was a combination of the legendary session bassist Willie Weeks and Steve Jordan of Expensive Winose. In addition, a three-person horn section was added for the first time since the “Nothin’ But the Blues Tour”. Clapton, who is supported by such a strong and skilled group, is playing freely and with a sense of tension, and it is a wonderful stage where he is enjoying playing with this once-in-a-lifetime band. This tour was held in response to the release of the album “BACK HOME” (2005), but by the time they came to Japan at the end of that year, there was not a single song from that album on the set list. It was. Considering that, it is valuable that three numbers from the album were played on this day at the beginning of the tour. In addition, Derek Trucks’ participation as a slide player seems to have greatly inspired Clapton, and he played five songs from that album, keeping in mind the masterpiece of the century “LAYLA” produced with the support of Duane Allman. I’m doing it. It’s valuable to be able to listen to live takes of songs from “BACK HOME” that disappear in the latter half of the tour (this performance is also great!), and Weeks & Jordan’s grinding rhythm section that can be heard on Got To Get Better In A Little While. +Backup by a thick horn section can be said to be a near-miraculous performance. Speaking of miracles, the participation of two young guitarists is also a miracle. If the play of these two people was aroused, Clapton should have been fired up as well. The combination of Weeks and Jordan’s Layla is also very powerful! The Japan performance with this band was amazing, but the power of this band is also brimming with the stage at the beginning of this tour.
