Description
The phantom album “Turn Up Down”, which was recorded for release in the summer of 1980 but ended up being shelved, is reproduced here in master quality and soundboard sound source. First, in the early 1980s, Clapton and his band members went into a studio in Surrey, England, to record the studio album that followed their live album “JUST ONE NIGHT” at Tokyo’s Budokan. A demo tape was made, and recording began in March with Gary Brooker acting as musical director. Several of his songs were also recorded at that time, and were later released as Gary’s solo singles. Albert Lee was in charge of vocals for many of the songs recorded on the album, and it is said that Clapton’s voice wasn’t very good at the time, which is why the album was scrapped. Producer Glyn Jones compiled these sound sources into a cassette and sent it to RSO executives, but due to the large number of instrumentals, they later refused to release it, and this title is based on that cassette sound source. Something. And the content is interesting, such as “OH HOW I MISS MAY BABY’S LOVE”, which is included in the Complete Studio Sessions book, but was not recorded for this album, and in fact, it is An outtake from “Money and Cigarettes.” Also, as a song that can only be heard on this CD, Clapton’s slide play on “There Ain’t No Money” is so wonderful that I wonder why it was scrapped. Incidentally, after that, all the recordings were redone, and in the end it changed to “Another Ticket”, but most of the songs included were changed, and from this recording, “Rita Mae” and “Catch Me If You Can” were selected. Many must-hear tracks, including valuable unreleased songs, in the best quality. 01. Blues Introduction / 02. There Ain’t No Money / 03. Games Up / 04. Rita Mae / 05. Freedom / 06. Evangelina / 07.
