Description
Eric Clapton, Japan Tour 2019. The evolutionary release continues! This edition contains a complete recording of the best stereo audience sound source on April 17th, the third day of the performance. This master is the original master that we obtained directly from the recorder. We have already released the high-quality sound board “Budokan 2019 Day 3 (2CD)”, but it is a completely different master and the recording position is the Arena B Block Center. Let’s assert that this board has the best sound quality on this third day. Now, let’s take this opportunity to review Clapton’s performance schedule. In addition, we will also add the release titles of our shop for each day. 13 April 2019 – “Budokan 2019 1st Night (2CD)”, “Budokan 2019 Day 1 (2CD)”, “Budokan 2019 Day 1 New Masters (4CD)”, “Budokan 2019: The 1st Show (2CD)” 15 April 2019 – “Budokan 2019 Day 2 (2CD)”, “Budokan 2019 : The 2nd Show (2CD)” 17 April 2019 – “Budokan 2019 Day 3 (2CD)” ← [This work] 18 April 2019 – “Budokan 2019 Day 4 (2CD)” 20 April 2019 – “Budokan 2019 Day 5 (2CD)” “Budokan 2019: The Final Show (2CD)” On the third day, some people expected that the set list would return to the first day after the second day, but as expected, it was the same as the second day. The set list seemed to be fixed at this point, and Electric Layla was not played, but like the second day, it was a day that presented stable play quality without any surprises. However, the opening Pretending, which had a mediocre solo and made fans anxious from the off-key finger warm-up intro, made them worry about what would happen today. Their voices were not very good. However, they started to get back on track with the next song, their favorite song Key to the Highway, and finally got into their groove with a passionate solo on Wanna Make Love to You, an outtake from the album “AUGUST” whose rare selections are a big topic among enthusiasts. You can hear the raging phrases in I’m Your Hoochie Coochie Man. In the postlude of I Shot the Sheriff, they liven up the venue with a song-like phrase. This gives you a little more peace of mind. At the beginning of the acoustic set, he showed the composure to call out to the audience, “Hi, are you having fun?”, and proceeded smoothly and happily with the acoustic set. At the end of this corner, he played Unplugged Layla, following the second day. Some information says that he stopped playing Electric Layla and went back to Unplugged because he had blisters on his left hand on the first day and had to change it, and some say that he said that Electric Layla is a difficult song that consumes energy. In any case, it is true that Unplugged Layla is also great. In the second half of the show, he showed off an energetic solo that seems to run through the sky, which is typical of Clapton, in Crossroads, and overwhelmed the audience with a bluesy play that pierced the hearts of the audience in Little Queen of Spades. At the end of the main set, he played Cocaine with a bang. In the middle solo, he showed off a wah play with the nuance that only Clapton can produce. And the encore is High Time We Went, sung by Paul Carrack in recent years, but in this solo, he steps on the wah and explodes with a phrase that is as sharp as the day. Usually, I would just let it go because I’m tired… But Clapton is amazing! He still lets me listen to it. If you think about it, every song is worth listening to (the instability of the opening is also interesting in a way). The third day, which can be listened to with the highest sound quality, is not bad either. After experiencing the first and final days with the highest sound quality, please enjoy the third day, which is the middle day, with the main board with the highest sound quality.
