Description

On July 12, 1992, Eric Clapton’s performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival was recorded in a super high quality audience recording of master quality, a must-have for fans. Clapton only appeared at the famous Montreux Jazz Festival twice in his career, in 1986 and 1992. The 1986 stage was officially released, but there was no official release for 1992, and he was not blessed with good sound sources even in the underground. This time, a high-quality sound source from that day has finally appeared. According to the recording artist’s own comment, “The master of the already released board was clearly a high generation, several generations after my master.” At the time, he said that he recorded it at a close distance of 3 to 4 meters from the stage, so it should have been a very high quality sound like this master. It finally appeared in the first generation by uploading it to the net by the recording artist himself. However, this master had some drawbacks. First of all, the pitch of the tape was about 35% higher than a semitone. Furthermore, the reverberation of the bass drum and cymbals was intense, which hindered the ease of listening. Therefore, in order to further polish this excellent master, the well-established label’s unique mastering has been used to properly correct the pitch and adjust the sound quality of the low and high ranges, resulting in a very clean, well-rounded sound that is very easy to listen to throughout. This quality will be appreciated by enthusiasts who know the original master. The differences from the previously released version are clear in the following points. The advantages are: ?The pitch is normal. ?The sound quality is significantly better. ?There is no sound fluctuation due to tape deterioration. ?The hiss noise has been significantly reduced. ?The missing part at the beginning of “Badge” in the original master has not been connected with a sound source from another performance. ?The fade-in/out at the start and ending is long. The quality is in pursuit of reality. This day was the final performance of the “24 Nights & Unplugged Europe Tour”. Although the set was a little short because it was a festival, Clapton was quite motivated because it was an opportunity for a wider range of listeners to hear his music. This is reflected in the raging performance of the opening “White Room”. This take is a performance of soul. The performances of “Anything For Your Love” and “She’s Waiting” also come with great force. The phrases that overflow without stagnating in “Old Love” and the chord stroke composition at the end of the solo of “Layla” seem to be an explosion of passion. In the encore “Sunshine Of Your Love”, he shows his presence as a big star by deciding on a free-spirited and powerful solo. The precious stage at the Montreux Festival in 1992, which was not blessed with good sound quality, is now available with the highest level of sound quality. If you are a true Clapton maniac, you should not ignore this upgraded version. Live at Le Casino, Montreux, Switzerland 12th July 1992 TRULY PERFECT SOUND Disc 1 (72:31) 1. Opening 2. White Room 3.
