The third performance from the North American tour in September and October 1988, which was held to commemorate the 25th anniversary of their debut, was recorded in Pittsburgh on September 4th, in a good mono audience recording. This is a valuable sound source that has not been released in recent years and has been digitally remastered to upgrade the version. The pitch, which was about a semitone higher, has been adjusted normally, and the sound balance has been adjusted to bring out the mid-range while suppressing the high and low ranges. Furthermore, since the sound quality and left and right channel balance were uneven depending on the part in the original master, these were also adjusted one by one as much as possible. And although there are other recordings of this tour, which featured guest performances by Mark Knopfler and keyboardist Alan Clark, the set list for this day is interesting. First, “Behind The Mask”, which has hardly been played on this tour, is played, and then “Rambling On My Mind / Have You Ever Loved A Woman” is played where “Same Old Blues” should usually be played. Also, be sure to check out the encore song “Further On Up The Road” where Clapton plays the nostalgic phrase of “Hideaway” from the Bluesbreakers era. It is also rare for Mark Knopfler’s solo to be featured in old blues, and “Motherless Children”, which can only be heard on this tour, and “Money For Nothing”, which features Knopfler in respect, are also valuable.
