Description

From Eric Clapton’s latest London performance, we will release the upgrade source on May 22nd, the first day! We released the first day sound source super fast last week, but the sound quality of the master of this board was far superior to that, so we decided to release it consecutively. There is no audience noise, and the sound quality is very easy to listen to. The recorder of this board is a heavyweight taper living in the UK, who is familiar to our shop. Therefore, this board is our original master. He went to the Royal Albert Hall to firmly record Clapton’s “now”. The seat was near the PA, a good position where the band sound approached directly, and he dared to record from the stage of the opening act Doyle Bramhall II. At that time, he noticed something interesting. “The sound of the EC stage was undoubtedly wonderful. But Doyle’s stage felt as if he was not using the same PA system as EC. The sound was clear, but not as powerful as Eric’s.” Usually, to ensure the sound of the main act is perfect, the same PA is used for adjustments during the opening act, but what was the meaning of this performance? To show this, we entrusted all of the masters, including Doyle’s opening act, to our shop. Therefore, this board will be delivered in a volume of 3 CDRs that also includes Doyle’s set. Please be sure to check out the comments of the veteran taper. Clapton at this London performance was much more energetic and full of vitality than at the New York performance in March. The pain of rheumatism must have been alleviated. In terms of the set list and stage composition, it is true that there was a lack of freshness as it has been for the past few years, but there was one song, a surprise. In the acoustic set in the middle, a reggae arrangement version of Bell Bottom Blues was played. In the reviews of fans who listened to this performance live and those who have already listened to the sound source of this day, the majority of the content was, “It was neither good nor bad. Why did they do it with such an arrangement?” I would like you to check this with your own ears and enjoy it. In the end, this song was only available on the first day. Because Clapton dropped it from the second and third day sets. Anyway, this take can only be heard on the first day. That’s one of the attractions. From this day, Doyle, the opening act, participated in the encore with Little Queen Of Spades and Cocaine. In this part, the contrast between Clapton and his solo is a highlight. And the highlight of the stage on this day was Badge and Cocaine. In Cocaine, Clapton plays a wild solo with a wah pedal. Then, without a break, Doyle takes over the solo, creating an unusual pattern. Perhaps because of this pattern, the timing of the singing is a little awkward, but this can also be said to be a fun happening. The band for this London performance had a different keyboardist from the New York performance in March. In New York, J.J. Cale’s ally Walt Richmond was used, but in London, veteran British musician Paul Carrack was used, so the personnel was settled on the regular band in recent years. Therefore, the encore was the familiar Hight Time We Went featuring Carrack, which has a different feel from the New York performance. For Japanese fans, this set, which is the same as the 2016 Japan tour, may be more familiar. Please be sure to get the upgrade version of the first day this week so that you can listen to it with concentration.
