Description
This is a 2CD complete recording of the finest stereo soundboard source from February 17th from the 1991 Royal Albert Hall performance where Eric Clapton broke the British box office record and performed for an unprecedented 24 consecutive days. This performance has previously released releases titled “Play With Fire” made overseas and “Play With Fire Revisited” made in Japan, but this version uses the same soundboard source but a different master from those. It is produced by In fact, this sound source was originally the master air check sound source that was broadcast at the time on British BBC Radio. The pre-released version was an edited version that used the same source but cut out all of the DJ’s MC that had been inserted in the intro and between songs, and connected the sounds. (Another sound source has been skillfully patched into the orchestral intro, and the cut has been edited as if it had never been made.) This time, using the air check master that has appeared in recent years, we have realized the CD in the original form. Therefore, the intro and DJ MC between songs are left as is. This is because the live sound source of this performance was played as is in the background of this MC. Although the song is not played because it is between songs, the audience’s excitement, noise, cheers, etc. are recorded as they are. For example, if you listen to the MC part before “Can’t Find My Way Home”, you will notice that the time between songs is longer than on the previously released version. Therefore, in order to more realistically reproduce the reality, for the first time we have created a CD that includes a DJ MC. What’s more, what you should definitely check out is the sound quality, which has been upgraded through high-level mastering. The ultra-treble range has been adjusted in a positive direction, and the dynamic range has been expanded compared to the previously released version, and the pitch, which was about 45% of a semitone higher, has also been corrected (the pitch of the previously released version is also incorrect). . Furthermore, the high-pitched tone at the beginning of “Badge” that was noticeable on the previously released version has been reduced and is no longer noticeable, and the 6:49 tape change part of “Can’t Find My Way Home” and the 6:49 tape change part of “Wonderful Tonight” The 9:25 tape change part and the 11:30 tape change part of “Sunshine Of Your Love” are also cross-fade processed for a natural feel. The improvement and improvement in sound quality achieved through such careful mending and mastering is astounding. This is the definitive edition that we recommend even for those who have the previously released edition! It is no exaggeration to say that Clapton on this day was presenting the culmination of this tour, as it was the final chapter of the “Journeyman Tour”. This is an unchanging set list from the beginning of the tour, and the guitar play and vocals in each song are completely unwavering, showing a dignified yet aggressive aggressiveness. The entire story is a high-tension play no matter where you look! Please imagine Clapton wearing a black Versace suit and looking stylish with his super long hair. It’s a series of wonderful performances that exude a man’s sex appeal. For those who want to listen to the representative sound sources of this tour, we can confidently recommend this album!
