The concert on February 22nd, the fourth night of the 13 consecutive nights of the annual 1996 Royal Albert Hall in London, was recorded in full for 2 hours and 11 minutes from the DAT audience master that was recently made public by the owner. First of all, the set list and song order were rearranged for each of the 13 consecutive RAH performances this year, inheriting the flow of the “Nothin’ But the Blues Tour” that he had been working on until the previous year, with many blues numbers set in, and of course his own representative songs woven in everywhere, and it was also around this time that he set up a sitting-style acoustic corner in the middle of the live performance. And although the fourth day had a total of 22 songs, which was about three songs shorter than the first day, this night started with an unusual opening song, “Ain’t Nobody’s Business,” which was the last number on the previous year’s tour. In the acoustic section, they also performed “Circus” and “My Father’s Eyes,” which were unreleased at this point. In particular, “My Father’s Eyes” featured a clarinet solo, and was arranged in a completely different way from the version included on “Pilgrim.” They also performed the traditional number “Alberta,” an outtake from “Slowhand,” for the first time in a long time, and “I Shot the Sheriff,” “Old Love,” and “White Room,” all of which featured breathtaking solos.
