Description
We have obtained the best audience source of Clapton’s latest European tour, the final day of the Lucca Festival performance! Eric Clapton’s latest European tour in 2024 was carried out from May to June and ended successfully. For most performances, we have realized an ultra-fast release from the amazingly good original master. Customers have said that they are happy to be able to listen to the sound source of the latest tour so quickly with good sound quality. Among them, the sound source from the performance at the festival held in Lucca, Italy on the final day was also released quickly from the original master, but this time we have obtained an audience master of the highest level that exceeds it! Not only is the drum sound recorded with great power, but the entire musical sound is grainy, and Clapton’s guitar play and vocals are also clearly captured at the highest level, so you can listen with confidence. It is also nice that there is less conversation of the surrounding audience compared to the previously released “Lucca Summer Festival 2024”. Clapton’s European tour took place on the following dates (the titles of the earliest releases are written after the venues. Titles in italics are new releases). This week, the Lyon performance and this work will be added. The charm of this tour is that the set list has been changed significantly from last year’s tour, and many rare numbers were set in from new songs that were just written. That’s why I’m sure that both enthusiasts and fans wanted to hear it as soon as possible, and I’m glad that they were happy with our fastest release. For Clapton, who doesn’t change his set list much in recent years, it was a dramatic change. The band members have only changed the keyboard to Paul Carrack and Tim Carmon, a familiar face in the Clapton band, and the rest are the same as last year’s tour. Therefore, the encore number has finally changed from High Time We Went, which featured Carrack in recent years! Surrounded by reliable and talented members who perform solid performances, Clapton is showing a very fulfilling performance, including a surprise. This Lucca Festival performance had a set list that was only available on this day, so you can enjoy it again. Please listen to it. The set list is different from last year’s tour, and it is only available on this day. As expected of Clapton. Even at the age of 79, he completed the tour in good health! This tour was a hot topic for the change in set list, including daily surprises, and this final performance also did not have the same set list as the previous performances. It can be said that this tour was performed with careful consideration until the final performance. To list the surprise factors again, the opening was surprising. This new instrumental song titled Blue Dust was dedicated to Jeff Beck, who passed away last year, and was a variation of Blue Rainbow, which was first performed at the Japan performance in April of the same year! I can’t believe he was already working on a variation of a new song that had not even been officially recorded yet. This alone shows Clapton’s vigorous creativity. This opening remained the same throughout the tour. And the last song of the first half of the electric set was the new song Prayer of a Child. This song was released with new lyrics added to the instrumental song “Voice Of A Child” that was played at the beginning of the “SAVE A CHILD Concert (For GAZA Children)” charity concert in support of Gaza (the video has already been released on DVD at our store). Clapton wanted people to hear this song as soon as possible, as it contains a strong message for children suffering from the ravages of war. From the beginning, Clapton played his custom Strat, painted in the colors of the Palestinian flag, which he first held at “SAVE A CHILD Concert (For GAZA Children)”. Moving to an acoustic set, he played the title number from the 2005 album “BACK HOME”, Back Home. This song was also a super rare song that was only played at the beginning of the 2006 tour. Perhaps it also contains his thoughts for the people of Gaza who have lost their homes. And surprisingly, in this acoustic set, they played the original song Golden Ring from “BACKLESS” released in 1978. This was a number included in the project album “The Lady In The Balcony: Lockdown Sessions”, which was recorded live in a studio at an old castle in England in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic. It seems that they liked the acoustic arrangement there and performed it at this performance. It was the first time in 46 years since the 1978 tour that they played it in a concert live in front of an audience. The first shot after returning to the electric set was the powerful Dominos number, Got to Get Better in a Little While. It was also featured for the first time in a long time in the aforementioned “SAVE A CHILD Concert (For GAZA Children)”, and Clapton also enjoyed the dynamic play for the first time in a long time, so it is thought that they set it in. Sonny Emory’s outstanding stick handling is also amazing here. And following that, in this final performance, Old Love was played for the first time on this tour. This song was played for the first time in 13 years since the South American tour in 2011, and the audience was particularly excited. The performance here is structured so that Clapton’s solo in the middle does not go to the chorus part, but transitions to Tim Carmon’s synth solo. And it is an unusual composition in which Clapton also overlaps his solo in the chorus part where the synth solo enters. Furthermore, the ending has also changed from 13 years ago. It is a rare take that you should definitely listen to. As unexpected numbers are played one after another, I thought there would be no more surprises, but as a special production of this tour, Nathan East plays a song called Close To Home written by Lyle Mays as a prologue before Cocaine. And there was still a surprise at the very end. The encore was Clapton’s favorite blues Before You Accuse Me. Along with Key To Their Highway, it was a Clapton-like number that you could listen to with confidence. Listening to this, you can see that the artist Clapton put together a set list for this tour, thinking about many things and many people. Of course, the most fundamental desire is to play, but it seems that he wanted to show it with his own feelings. A lost friend, a world of constant war, an admired bluesman, his career so far. This set list and this fulfilling live performance are the result of various thoughts that came to Clapton’s heart. Old Love can only be heard at this final performance! Please note that Layla and Wonderful Tonight are not included. In that respect, it can be said that it was a rare tour. Clapton’s next tour is a Latin American tour scheduled for September this year. I hope he will stay healthy until then. Until then, I hope you will enjoy this work, which recorded the stage of the final performance of the tour, which was interesting and beautifully concluded, with the best sound quality.
