Description

As the name suggests, this concert was only open to those who lived or worked in Greenwich, Connecticut, USA, and strict qualification checks were conducted. On the other hand, there was a scramble for tickets because Clapton was going to be there. As a result, tickets for this “town revitalization event,” which was held for the eighth time this year, were sold out, and Eric Clapton was the one who took the lead. Of course, that’s only natural. The official announcement said that he would be performing on stage for the first time in a long time at a performance in Germany in July, so it was surprising to see him suddenly travel to the United States and perform at such a festival. Following the amazing footage from the front row, our shop will release the master of the stereo audience recording by the famous taper, daspyknows. The master was uploaded to the Internet and boasts the finest sound quality, recorded using the high-performance microphone Schopes MK4, which is highly regarded as a famous machine, in an excellent position just 20 meters from the front of the stage. Before this was uploaded, there was a tapered sound source called Larryrulz, which was also an excellent recording that could not be complained about, but when comparing the two, although it was a small margin, this Daspyknows recording was superior in terms of content and impression. Therefore, this time we decided to adopt the Daspyknows version and record it remastered. Initially, we planned to release it as a two-disc set, but last weekend, the cameraman Larryrulz uploaded a very beautiful video of the wonderful video master of the gift in a two-disc set. Moreover, the audio was recorded in sync with the video, with a high-quality sound source that mixed his recording and the Daspyknows sound source from the CD. The effect was tremendous, and the beautiful video combined with the best sound made the ultimate documentary title of this day. The two-disc CD is the Daspyknows version, and the two-disc DVD is a mixed sound source of Larryrulz and Daspyknows. There is no better project than this concert. It is definitely a must-have for fans! That’s all I can say. Now let’s move on to the contents of the concert. The members of the Clapton band who participated in this concert were new. Above all, the key to the sound was the return of Doyle Bramhall II, who is thought to be the best when it comes to supporting Clapton. Furthermore, Clapton also brought back Walt Richmond, a keyboardist who is a friend of J.J. Cale, whom Clapton admires, and Sonny Amory, who is highly regarded in the funk and jazz world, on drums. The performance of this lineup, which is the first in Japan, is interesting in itself, but it is noteworthy that Clapton, who is famous for not changing the set list, changed the set list only this time. Some people may think, “What is it about this set list that starts again with Somebody’s Knocking, which has been the opening number since 2013?!”, but at the end, they played The Core, which is the first set-in since the 1978 tour. This alone is worth listening to. As with the 1977 Japan performance and the 1978 US tour, Clapton’s sharp solo is the best. And in the Dominos number Got To Get Better In A Little While, Sonny Amory shows off his skills to the fullest. Clapton, spurred on by Doyle and Sonny, performs a sharp solo reminiscent of the Dominos era. And in White Room, the thrill of the Cream era is recreated thanks to Doyle. Here too, spurred on by Doyle, Clapton decides to play a solo by stepping on the wah pedal with the same tension as in the Cream era or around 1985. These are also worth listening to. In addition, Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, who appeared before Clapton’s set, jumped in as a married couple for the encore. This strangely enough, the triple guitar lineup that was said to be the “best lineup,” and the lineup from 2006 are almost complete. Three guitarists, or rather, four guitarists because Susan was there, spark up the peaceful mood at Crossroads! Aside from being Clapton’s first live stage in a long time, this is a high-quality live performance that you should pay attention to the content itself. We will deliver the ultimate set of the best master sound source recorded by a rare taper with a Schopes microphone and the master video released by the photographer (audio is a 2-source mix!) as soon as possible.
