Description

Here we will once again release the definitive title of the 1985 North American tour! Of course, all are unreleased masters newly discovered by our store. What is recorded is the two-day Denver performance on July 11th and 14th, which was the final stage of the tour. Both are completely recorded with good sound balance and clear sound quality. Some of you may be wondering, “Huh?” based on the schedule. Even though it was a two-day performance in the same city and venue, why was there a gap of two days? Yes, that historical event “Live Aid” was held in Philadelphia on July 13th during these two days, and Clapton and the band were appearing in it. Clapton’s brave appearance at “Live Aid” is revealed in the official DVD work, and he delighted old fans with this event and also gained new fans. The timing was perfect for promotion. And this edition includes Clapton’s enthusiastic performance before the event appearance, and the fulfilling performance after the appearance. Why was Clapton so popular with “Live Aid”? He played the classic Cream era song White Room with a wah-wah solo, he played She’s Waiting from his then-new album “BEHIND THE SUN” and showed the current Clapton, and he played the eternal masterpiece Layla. It was only because we were able to present these three things at the same time that Clapton’s presence was clearly shown. In other words, in front of a large audience of 70,000 people, Eric Clapton proved that he is not a person of the past, but an active artist, that he has inherited famous songs, and that his ability to play them has not diminished in the slightest. . He probably expected this outcome. If you listen to the play from the 11th performance included here, you will see an explosion of crisp play born from unwavering confidence. And on the 14th, they gave a stormy performance filled with even more confidence, as if to say, “What’s up?” There is no need to dwell on it any longer. I just want you to listen to it. That’s it. Although there is a previously released version of the sound source on the 11th, this version is produced from a completely different master that was newly discovered. The musical tone has a slightly narrow impression, but it is clear with excellent stereo sound. And the highlight of this edition is the 14th. The sound source of the day, which was completely unreleased until now and had no previously released records, has finally seen the light of day. This is also a new master that we independently discovered. This 14th is a large-scale sound with a full stereo feel, with even better sound quality than the 11th. The sound quality is absolutely amazing. The set list is the same for both days, but the sharp slide moves in Motherless Children, the elegant phrases in I Shot The Sheriff, the raging blues guitar throughout the entirety of Same Old Blues, and the fast pace of Tangled In Love. The way the passages are inserted, and the sharpness of the wah-wah that surpasses the Cream era at White Room. By this point in the first half, you’re completely knocked out. The second half continues with this momentum, and the high tension continues until the end of the encore, Further On Up The Road. This album clearly shows how amazing Clapton was in 1985. Another title that will leave its name in Clapton’s live history will be released. Red Rocks Amphitheater, Denver, CO.
