Description

Eric Clapton’s upgraded master suddenly appeared on the net! This is the release of the best version only for our shop, which has been further upgraded. This is the main board that recorded the Laguna Hills performance on September 23rd in the highest level stereo audience recording from the Celebrate US tour held in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of his debut in 1988. Our shop has already released the sound source of this day from the original master under the title “IRVINE CROSSING”. However, when it comes to upgrade masters, our shop’s policy is to deliver better things to everyone. The master on the net this time was a rare DAT recording sound source in 1988 with a powerful sound quality with a bass effect, but the richness of this bass range was the opposite, giving the impression of a sky covered with dull clouds. The bass led to a sound quality blockage. In addition, the intro of the opening number Crossroads was slightly missing, and because the recording started in a hurry, the sound of the equipment plug’s poor contact was recorded, and the left channel fell off as a result. However, our shop has eliminated all these shortcomings. Our engineers have mastered the sound by sweeping away the clouds that covered it, and the lack of the intro has been eliminated by patching it from the mastered master and applying a wonderful synthesis process. Furthermore, the musical tones that were slightly biased to the right throughout the whole piece have been shifted to the center. As a result, not only does this sound quality surpass the existing version, but it has become a clear, grainy sound like a soundboard, completely different from the net master this time. Now, regarding the performance on this day, let’s first see where it was located in the 25th anniversary tour of the debut that took place this year.・January 22nd – February 7th, 1988: Toured the UK, including nine consecutive performances at the Royal Albert Hall (with Mark Knopfler) ≪April 18th, 1988: Released the anthology box set “CROSSROADS”≫ ・June 5th – 6th, 1988: Appeared with his own band at the “Prince’s Trust Concert” held at the Royal Albert Hall (with Elton John) ・June 8th – 9th, 1988: Rehearsed with Dire Straits at the Brixton Academy ・June 11th, 1988: Appeared as a member of Dire Straits at the “Nelson Mandela 70th Birthday Concert” ・July 2nd, 1988: Appeared at the charity event “Picnic Concert” held in Surrey, UK・September 1st to October 8th, 1988: US tour ←★Here★・October 11th, 1988: Sudden appearance at Jack Bruce’s concert at the Bottom Line club in New York・October 31st to November 5th, 1988: Japan tour・November 28th, 1988: Appeared at a charity event at the Hard Rock Cafe in London. Performed on stage with Jeff Beck and Mitch Mitchell・December 23rd, 1988: Sudden appearance at Gary Brooker’s Stiletto Shoes gig in Dunsfold, Surrey, UKThis was a large-scale world tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their debut, to thank their fans for their long-time support along with the release of their anthology album. There were many topics to talk about, such as the early UK performances, which were centered around consecutive performances at the RAH, and the final Japan performance, which featured guest musicians, but the US tour, which was a full-scale road trip, was the longest-lasting main event of the year. The performance date of this album was in the middle of the tour. The set list was composed of masterpieces that represent the band’s 25-year career. During the Japan tour, the set was dropped and the strong groove of the remake arrangement “After Midnight” was played with outstanding stability, and the long original blues “Same Old Blues” with its solo that makes extensive use of sustain and bent creates a bewitching atmosphere, and “Layla” with its intense solo in the middle and coda that emphasizes melody, and maximizes the synergy with Mark Knopfler, etc. The band’s potential is fully demonstrated throughout the entire tour. The difference from the later Japan tour was that the percussionist at this time was not Ray Cooper of the former Elton John band who later became a regular member, but Jodie Linscott, a leading British female percussionist. This was the only tour where she supported Clapton, who has supported countless artists. Another point to listen to is the way she interacts with Steve Ferrone, who uses more percussion than Cooper. This is the best grade title of the representative sound source of the 1988 Celebrate US Tour. Please take this opportunity to get the best version of this sound source.
