Description
This is a recording of Eric Clapton’s special video program “Mr. SLOW HAND”, which was broadcast on domestic satellite broadcasting on January 4, 1995, from a video master recorded at the time. It is in two parts, all recorded in stereo. Of course, it is a professional shot video, and the first part is a blues session and interview in the studio produced in conjunction with the 1994 album “From The Cradle” and used in the promo clip, and a dress rehearsal of the tour recorded at Hammersmith Ballroom in New York on September 28 of the same year. It is a video that is already familiar to enthusiasts, but in between there is an interview with Clapton, and you can learn about his stance on blues at the time. It is an excellent video that allows you to confirm his honest thoughts as he was aiming to return to his roots. At this time, the famous session drummer Andy Newmark was enrolled in the back, and the rehearsal scene includes interesting scenes such as a scene where Clapton complains that he is hitting too much and a scene where Andy Fairweather Low is a yes man. The second part is a discography created specially for this special program, and excerpts from the 1991 video “24 Nights” and the 1992 video “Unplugged”. The criteria for selecting the discography are blues covers, which matches the purpose of this program. However, the second part of the video shows Clapton with super long hair, a stark contrast to the first part. It can be said that the change in his appearance over the past few years was a transformation in his heart, and the meaning of the first part, which was a return to his blues roots, is more apparent. The image quality is beautiful with no degradation or loss of color, and there are no problems with the audio. This special program video, which captures the timing of Clapton’s return from rock star to blues musician, is an excellent video title that captures the musicianship of an artist, and is a must-see for anyone, even if they are not a fan.
