Elvin Jones’ quartet, with Art Blakey and Roy Haynes as guests, performed at the Olympia in Paris, France on October 22, 1972. This live performance was recorded in its entirety on a high-quality stereo soundboard, which was recently broadcast locally. In addition to the tenor line-up of Dave Liebman and Steve Grossman, and bassist Gene Parra, who are the same members as on the official live album “Live at the Lighthouse” recorded on September 9 of the same year, Art Blakey participated on “The Children, Save the Children” and Roy Haynes participated on two songs, “Shinjitsu” and “A Night in Tunisia”.
