Description
In 1970, Elton John made a breakthrough with “My Song Is Your Song” and “Elton John 3,” and began his meteoric rise. The best soundboard album will be released. There are two types of soundboard recordings included in this work. “November 17, 1970: WABC-FM appearance” and “November 21, 1970: Fillmore East performance”. I think there are many people who can relate to this date, but this work is also a live album that is closely related to the official traditional album “Live!! (17-11-70)”. In order to explain the circumstances around that, let’s first check the show’s position from the schedule at that time. ・March 25th + April 7th: London (2 performances) [“My Song is Your Song” released on April 10th] ・April 21st – August 14th: Europe (15 performances) ・August 25th – September 12th: US #1 (15 performances) – October 2nd: London performance [“Elton John 3″ released on October 30th] – October 29th – December 5th: US #2 ( 22 performances) ←★Here★ ・December 20th: London performance This is Elton in 1970. In about six months, he released two albums, “My Song is Your Song” and “Elton John 3”, and this work is the “US #2” record immediately after the release of the latter. Now, let’s introduce each sound source individually. [First half: New York, November 17, 1970 (official outtakes)] The first thing that appears is a stereo soundboard recording that is an outtake of the official masterpiece “Live!! (17-11-70)”. In the first place, this show was publicly recorded for broadcast on the radio station “WABC-FM”, and it became an official live album. However, not all of the broadcast was “Live!! (17-11-70)”, and the original version was an excerpted version of about half of the show. And, what is included in this work is the cut part. In fact, it was officially released in 2017, but it was a limited edition of analog only. On the other hand, this work is a radio broadcast version, the highest master quality version. The following 6 songs are included.・My song is your song: I Need You To Turn To/Your Song/Border Song ・Elton John 3: Country Comfort/My Father’s Gun ・Madman: Indian Sunset [Second half: November 21, 1970 Fillmore East performance ]And the second half of this work is a sound board recording 4 days later. This was a regular concert held at the traditional venue “Fillmore East”, and was the 12th concert of “USA #2” on the above schedule. This is also the best official sound board, but since it is a regular concert, it plays plenty of delicious covers. It is a live take where you can enjoy Elton as a “wild rock and roller” rather than an “up-and-coming singer-songwriter”. The most important point is the guests. Leon Russell appeared at the end of the show. An exciting jam session lasting 9 minutes will take place, and even the finishing song “Give Peace A Chance” will let you listen to a historic collaboration. Let’s also organize the recorded contents.・Elton John 3: Country Comfort/Burn Down The Mission ・Friends: Can I Put You On? ・Cover and others: Honky Tonk Women (Stones) / My Baby Left Me (Arthur Crudup) / Get Back (Beatles) / Jam ( ★)/Give Peace A Chance (★: Plastic Ono Band) *Note: “★” indicates a collaboration with Leon Russell. The first half (6 songs, approx. 28 minutes) can be said to be a complementary take of “Live!! ). A great value piece that allows you to enjoy both of them on an official-class superb soundboard.
