Description
Contains the EL&P special program broadcast on radio in Japan on January 7, 1978. The air check tape that was carefully kept by a deep collector is used directly, and the sound quality is perfect. The content is a take on January 7th, the first broadcast of Young Jockey in 1978. The program is titled “EL&P speaks volumes.” This episode is a special 45 minute slot (the DJ calls it a “New Year’s scaled down version”), with the first half featuring ELP and the second half featuring former 10cc members Godley & Creme. ELP is a bilingual interview centering on “On Tour With Emerson, Lake & Palmer” from the radio show disc “Superstar Radio Network” at the time, and two unreleased songs from the time that were recorded on the analog disc. The songs, Abbadon’s Bolero played by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and Tiger In A Spotlight, which will be recorded at the beginning of “Works Volume 2” the following year, are being aired. The interview was recorded in Montreal, Canada, where he started a large-scale tour with an orchestra. I think it’s funny that the DJ pronounces it “Walks” instead of “Works,” but in an interview (with Japanese translation, of course), the members said, “Touring is a huge loss. We do it every night. “It costs a lot of money.” is a famous episode, and Greg said, “Until now, we had retired to the countryside and did things like grow vegetables, so we had to do everything we could to regain our popularity. , I have to do whatever it takes. I’m doing this tour because I have no choice.” The interviewer (Sonny Fox) asked some amazing questions, such as, “How long do we have to keep going before we go bankrupt again?”, but the members answered, “If we don’t get help from the record company, we’ll go bankrupt right away. Well, just keep going.” I’m not sure if he’s a pessimist or an optimist, saying things like, “If you just do it, good things will happen.” Carl is always laughing and joking, Greg is telling me that he custom made a double neck bass but it was too heavy to use, Keith had his ribbon controller explode and split his finger, but I’m from England. In a sense, they continue to say things like, “They continued to perform concerts because they were brave and brave.” The special feature on ELP, which was still extremely popular in Japan, must have been of great interest to fans at the time, and most importantly, it was the first time Japanese fans heard the popular song Tiger In A Spotlight. It’s very interesting to listen to it, considering what could have been. The second half is a special feature on Godley & Creme’s “Gizmo Fantasia” (Consequences), and since this time it’s mainly ELP, I won’t explain it, but even though this album is just over 20 minutes long, there was a special feature in Japan. Isn’t that pretty amazing? A valuable piece that allows you to immerse yourself in the era when that “quadrlogy” was released. This is a must-see for fans!
