The Eagles are moving forward with their latest tour “HOTEL CALIFORNIA 2022” and the news of Deacon Fry’s departure is spreading ripples in 2022. Their latest live album has arrived. This work is recorded from the “April 19, 2022 Columbus performance”. It is a superb audience recording. The tour resumed after a year and a half last year, and the new year of 2022 started in February. It seemed to be going smoothly, but Deacon was not on stage. The core is strong and straight to the ears, and the details are clear. Despite the large group of eight people, including support, each sound is clear and clear. Unfortunately, it is not perfect because there is a rustling microphone contact sound in “New Kid in Town”, but the basic quality is a great recording. In addition, the loud cheers that overlap there are also nice. The full performance of the great masterpiece and the intro of the famous songs are accompanied by a grand cheer and a roar, but it is strangely far away. Although the performance sound is very close, you can enjoy the show in a somewhat bird’s-eye mood. (This is just a guess) This is probably due to the recording position. This work was recorded in the “5th row of Section 101”, which is an arena, but right next to the stage. Since it is near the front (5th row), it has a three-dimensional feel that makes you feel like you are watching the whole venue with a sense that is very similar to the stage. The side of the stage was hard to see at the scene, so it was a “bad seat”, but the recording was so well balanced. It is an unexpected blind spot, and it is also a recording that teaches us the depth of audience culture once again.
