Description

A collection of professional shots from the heyday of the 1980s is set to be released. This work contains 20 songs from 15 programs from their debut work “DURAN DURAN” to the soundtrack “007 A Beautiful Prey”. It was compiled by an overseas enthusiast, and is a collection of professional shots that focuses on the “original 5” TV programs. Although some of the footage is familiar, it is a masterpiece that is written by masters of the highest quality. Let’s take a look at each era. [1981: DURAN DURAN era (5 programs, 8 songs)] First, the footage from just after their debut. You can see them full of fresh brilliance in the highest quality. They have appeared in many mime performances in the station studio, including the famous British program “TOP OF THE POPS,” but the one that stands out is “Mandagsborsen, September 11, 1981.” It is a Swedish music program where you can watch four songs performed live at the theater. Moreover, the quality is superb. Although all of this work is of the highest quality, there are also air checks. However, this video is super vivid and has zero degradation. You can immerse yourself in the live performance with completely official-class video beauty. [1982: RIO era (1 program, 1 song)] During the second album “RIO”, there is only one song “Hungry Like The Wolf” that appeared on “TOP OF THE POPS”. However, this is also a quality that sets it apart from the many air checks, and the video beauty is free of distortion and dubbing degradation. The disco studio set and analog video processing give off a fierce “smell of 1982”. This week, the first visit to Japan album “LIVE IN TOKYO 1982” will be released, but that legendary performance was just before the release of “RIO”. This one song is the “scene” of almost the same time as the first visit to Japan. [1983-1984: SEVEN AND THE RAGGED TIGER (6 shows, 7 songs)] During the “SEVEN AND THE RAGGED TIGER” era, when they began to have the air of a global superstar, their television exposure also increased. This work also forms the core of the album with a volume of 7 songs (plus interviews) from 6 shows. Moreover, it is not only the quantity but also the variety. Up until this point, there were only European shows, but in this section, American and Japanese shows also appear. Even though it is the same “TOP OF THE POPS”, the set is luxurious. The Japanese show is particularly interesting. It was an appearance on a late-night music show on a national network during their second visit to Japan, and the quality is exceptional for an air check at that time. Although it is unfortunate that the deliberate celebrity-like interviews are not included, the youthful appearance of the Japanese talent is also a nostalgic image. [1985: A VIEW TO A KILL era (3 shows, 4 songs)] The last section is a video from 1985 when the theme song “A View To A Kill” for the movie “007 A Beautiful Prey” was a big hit. It was the last hit single of the “Original 5”, and you can witness the brilliance of the band on the verge of collapse in a professional shot. The two live songs from the “Montreux Pop Festival” are also cool, but it is “Wild Boys” on the American program “LIVE ELDORADO” that gives off a sense of the era. It is a mime with a song set, but in addition to the members, other performers also appear on stage. They dance to the song. That dance is almost the movie “Flashdance”. In the first place, the hit of “A View To A Kill” is a product of the soundtrack era, but the production in which unknown performers (with their subtle dance) are shown instead of the big star members is also unique to this era. It is a scene that could only have happened in the mid-1980s. The last song, “A View To A Kill,” is just the band, but the image of the rifling (the swirl pattern inside the gun barrel), which is the symbol of “007,” is superimposed, giving it a full scent of the soundtrack era (this song has some distortion due to a recording error, but the image and sound quality itself are of the highest quality). This work closes with a peaceful interview with the program personality. This is the five years of the “original 5” who ran straight from their fresh brilliance to the big star road. It is a masterpiece that follows the appearance from their shocking debut to their collapse with the best professional shots. 83 minutes spent with “the five of them” rather than “those five”. Please enjoy it to the fullest. Compilation of TV Live Performance from 1981 to 1985 1. Planet Earth (Top Of The Pops, UK 5th March 1981) 2. Careless Memories (Top Of The Pops, UK 21st May 1981) 3.
