Description

The masterpiece of the 25th anniversary tour of “IMAGES & WORDS” is born! We reported it recently with “TOYOTA 2017” and “BUDOKAN 2017”, but the superb sound has arrived. It is a masterpiece recording that will be No. 1 worldwide. This work was recorded at the “September 13, 2017: Osaka International Convention Center” performance. This week, Azuma’s masterpiece “TOKYO 2017 FINAL NIGHT” will also be released at the same time, so let’s organize each title by schedule here.・September 9: Toyota Civic Cultural Hall “TOYOTA 2017″・September 10: Hiroshima Bunka Gakuen HBG Hall・September 11: Nippon Budokan “BUDOKAN 2017″・September 13: Osaka International Convention Center [This work]・September 14: Tokyo International Forum “TOKYO 2017 FINAL NIGHT” A total of five performances. Four performances other than the Hiroshima performance were completed last week and this week. All of the titles are masterpieces made by famous recordings from various places, but this work is outstanding among them! Of course, when it comes to super high sound quality in Osaka metal, the recording artist is the familiar “Western Japan’s Strongest Taper”! He is a master of masters who loves HR/HM and is familiar with all the live spots in Western Japan. His incredible recording skills are proven by countless titles, and he is a master who is even praised as “better than the sound I heard on site.” This work is also a masterpiece that makes the “strongest” brand shine even more, rather than tarnishing it. What is most wonderful is its powerful “core”. Despite the hall-class “Osaka International Conference Center”, the extremely thick and strong “core” approaches in front of you, and you can’t feel the distance at all. The heavy bass, which tends to be a weak point in audience recordings, roars with a powerful force that is just about to be shocked. The gorgeous mid-high tones penetrate the center of the powerful push and dance in front of you. Its strength makes you want to call it “like a sound board”, but the feeling of your whole body being absorbed into the wall of sound that is rushing in is unique to the audience. It is a powerful sound that is very modern. The sound depicts the “dream show” as introduced the other day. Disc 1 is a three-disc set with the first part of the regular concert format, disc 2 is the second part of the reproduction of the great masterpiece “IMAGES & WORDS”, and disc 3 is a reproduction encore of the masterpiece “A Change Of Seasons”. As I have written many times before, the main must-listen parts are the second and third parts. The world of “IMAGES & WORDS” begins dramatically with a 25th anniversary commemorative production at the beginning. The perfection is as expected from DREAM THEATER. In other bands’ reproduction shows, the level of proficiency for each song varies. They are so familiar with their representative songs that they could play them even while sleeping, and the detailed arrangements they have accumulated over the years are effective. However, the rare songs that they would not play unless they were reproducing the album are tense and awkward… However, there is no such awkwardness in this work. Since they have nurtured all the songs on “IMAGES & WORDS” over their long history, the total is the “25th anniversary version”. In addition, Rudess’ solo time is included in “Another Day”, Petrucci’s solo time is included in “Take The Time”, Mangini’s solo time is included in “Metropolis Pt. 1”, and the keyboard intro of “Wait For Sleep” is also increased. Compared to the original album’s 57 minutes, this work is a 1 hour and 15 minute epic. The encore’s reproduction of “A Change Of Seasons” further spurs on the gigantic scale. As you know, this was originally a masterpiece that was written at the same time as other songs to be included in “IMAGES & WORDS”. Now, after 25 years, you can hear it in a continuous rendition by the same members. If you are a fan, you may have imagined what kind of album it would have been if it had been a two-disc set, and this live album makes that dream a reality. Anyway, this Japan tour was a “fan’s dream” itself. This is a super masterpiece that allows you to experience it with the extremely thick and super beautiful sound of Line Barefoot. For those who are thinking of one of the Japanese performances… No. It’s not. This is a great masterpiece that will represent the “IMAGES, WORDS & BEYOND 25TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR” at a global level. It’s the best one to experience “IMAGES & WORDS”, which has evolved into a huge masterpiece over a quarter century.
