Description
The re-enactment show of the century, “IMAGES, WORDS & BEYOND 25TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR”. The archipelago was intoxicated by the great album “IMAGES & WORDS”. This week, which is a recording rush, we have prepared a powerful live in Japan as a gift. This work contains the “September 11, 2017: Nippon Budokan” performance. This week, there are two masterpiece live albums, “TOYOTA 2017” and “BUDOKAN 2017”. First of all, as always, let’s check the show’s position on the tour dates. September 9: Toyota Civic Cultural Center “TOYOTA 2017” September 10: Hiroshima Bunka Gakuen HBG Hall September 11: Nippon Budokan “BUDOKAN 2017” + [This work] September 13: Osaka International Convention Center September 14: Tokyo International Forum (additional performance) All five performances above. Nippon Budokan was only performed once, and this work is an audience recording of the same show as “BUDOKAN 2017”. Since the theme of this tour is to reproduce the great masterpiece “IMAGES & WORDS” of the century, it has attracted more attention than usual, and the recordists are also putting in effort. In particular, the highlight of the Nippon Budokan performance is that people representing the Kanto region gathered, and many masterpiece recordings have arrived. Of course, the regular release board “BUDOKAN 2017” on the Shades label is number one, but this work is also a great recording that is difficult to distinguish. Originally, the “2 source 6 disc set” style is the most suitable, but we released it so that as many people as possible can try the famous masterpiece reproduction show. The quality of this work is high quality sound that will make you think “I want to listen more!” when you listen to it. The basic sound quality is no less than the number one title “BUDOKAN 2017”. A wonderfully clear atmosphere, fine details, and a solid core of musical sound. Every single one is a wonderful recording that is far removed from the Nippon Budokan. On top of that, the Nippon Budokan feel is firmly engraved. It is the passionate performance and vast enthusiasm that can only be achieved at a highlight performance. DREAM THEATER has officially recorded “LIVE AT BUDOKAN” and completely reproduced DEEP PURPLE’s “LIVE IN JAPAN”, making the Nippon Budokan a “special venue”. However, this is only the third time they have stood on that stage. Moreover, this day was also recorded, and the enthusiasm is one of the best on the tour. And the audience who faces such a passionate performance is also hot. Especially wonderful is the reproduction part of “IMAGES & WORDS”. It was announced in advance that it would be reproduced, but it was moving to see each song become a reality, and a big roar occurred at the intro. The best is “Metropolis Pt. 1”. Even though the song order is the same as the album, the octagonal space is filled with joy. “You guys know what’s coming next, right?” you think, but you also get synced up with the joy of the performance, which is so magnificent… This live album has a beautiful sense of being there. In fact, this show is scheduled to be broadcast on a certain satellite station at a later date. There is a possibility that it will not be broadcast in its entirety like JOURNEY, but many people will probably wait for it. However, this emotion, this sense of reality is so strong because it is “now”. The emotion of seeing rumors become reality before your eyes. The mood of standing in the middle of it and sharing the joy with the audience. This “heat” that wells up in your heart cannot be experienced after it has long since become a page in history. But if you experience it “now”, you can remember it forever. This performance in Japan was even more amazing than the rave reviews that were leaking out from the world tour. This masterpiece of a live album conveys the highlights with a wonderful sense of reality. Live at Budokan, Tokyo, Japan 9th September 2017 PERFECT SOUND(from Original Masters) Disc 1 (59:38) 1.
