From a label with a good reputation for recordings of their Japan tours, the first day of their 2017 tour, September 9th, at Toyota Civic Cultural Hall, and the second day, September 10th, at Hiroshima Bunka Gakuen HBG Hall, are here in a 6-CD set of coupling titles, all recorded in stereo soundboard format. First of all, while the label has been familiar with multi-IEM matrix sound sources in recent years, this work is a real stereo soundboard sound source that surpasses them, and both performances are of sound quality that is in no way inferior to the official live album. This visit to Japan is part of the anniversary world tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the release of “IMAGES AND WORDS,” and the main focus of this tour is the complete reproduction of the album, which has already been highly praised by fans around the world. The three-part live performance was divided into the first part “normal format”, the second part “IMAGES AND WORDS complete reproduction”, and the encore. The first part was selected from each album, as in the normal concert, but “The Gift of Music” and “Our New World” from “THE ASTONISHING”, which were not available in Japan, were also performed, and “Hell’s Kitchen” from “FALLING INTO INFINITY” was revived for the first time in 14 years. In addition, “The Bigger Picture” was also performed for the first time in 2017, and “As I Am”, which introduced Jaco Paz’s “Portrait Of Tracy”, also introduced METALLICA’s “Enter Sandman”, and there were many innovative arrangements. The main second part, a complete reproduction of “IMAGES AND WORDS”, was led by an intro that time-warped 25 years, and proceeded in the order of the songs on the album. The magnificent and magnificent masterpieces are reproduced with 100% original sound, and what’s more, it goes beyond a simple reproduction and is an expanded version, with the full reproduction of “A Change Of Season” in the third part for the first time in 13 years, making it truly complete. Although the set and composition of all five performances in Japan this time are not changed because they are concept shows, a CD containing a sound check before the opening of the Toyota performance on the first day is added.
