Description

On May 9, 1981, the performance at the New Orleans Jazz Festival, the holy land of gumbo, was recorded over 74 minutes on a recently unearthed audience master, with the latest mastering in 2025. Although there are some cuts and fade-ins, the sound has been adjusted and the missing parts have been carefully connected and corrected to produce a good quality recording. This year, he released a piano accompaniment album, and in the “City Lights” period a little earlier, he approached a sophisticated urban sound, but here in New Orleans, he is attacking with a funky style full of gumbo colors, and of course, the light boogie-woogie piano play is also explosive, including “Right Place,” “Such a Night,” and “Hoodoo.” In addition, Leo Nocentelli, who is familiar from the Meters, participated in the band and guitar, and fans must listen to the performance that is unique to this place.
