On May 9, 1981, the performance at the New Orleans Jazz Festival, the holy land of gumbo, was recorded over 74 minutes on a recently unearthed audience master, with the latest mastering in 2025. Although there are some cuts and fade-ins, the sound has been adjusted and the missing parts have been carefully connected and corrected to produce a good quality recording.
