Description
THE DOOBIE BROTHERS have finally come to Japan for the first time in 16 years. Their latest and unbelievably high quality live album has arrived. This is an audience album obtained through a unique route, and is an original recording that is not available anywhere else. This work includes the performance at Grand Cube Osaka on April 28, 2017. First, let’s check the tour schedule. April 24: Hondanomori Hall April 26: Nippon Budokan April 27: Nippon Tokushu Togyo Civic Hall April 28: Grand Cube Osaka [This work] All four performances. The Nippon Budokan, which was the first in 21 years, was also a hot topic on this tour, but this work is the Osaka performance on the final day. The biggest point of this work is the rare and superb sound. The recording was done by a master who is not well known nationwide. His skills are outstanding and he is a person who handles ferocious high-quality recordings, but at the same time, he is a person who does not produce many works. No, in fact, he may have recorded many, but he would not release them unless he was absolutely confident. That is why all of the works he provided are excellent. This week, Norah Jones’s “OSAKA 2017” will also be released at the same time, and both are of such transcendent quality that they forcefully expand the limits of customer recording. In fact, the sound that flows out of this work is “like a sound board”. Unlike Norah Jones, THE DOOBIE BROTHERS is a lively audience recording, so you can tell from its reality that it is an audience recording, but the thickness and delicacy of the roaring musical tones, and the vividness of the venue with almost no acoustics are so amazing that they make any line recording out of the question. It is meaningless to talk about the details of the high notes and balance. In general, it is a perfect sound that can only be said to be “all amazing” and “no more than this”. Such a sound depicts THE DOOBIE BROTHERS, who are light and full of dynamism. The opening was a succession of “Jesus Is Just Alright,” “Rockin’ Down the Highway,” and “Take Me in Your Arms.” After that, they continued to play light and fast with THE DOOBIE BROTHERS-style rock and roll. They also played songs from their restart, such as “World Gone Crazy” and “The Doctor,” but only these two songs. Even during their time at McDonald’s, they only played “Takin’ It to the Streets.” The rest of the set was a golden set of early 70s American rock. The atmosphere in the venue was amazing during such a driving show! It seems that there was almost no screaming or singing, which is typical of Japan, but instead, there was a storm of clapping for every song. The entire venue clapped without any particular encouragement from the members, and the wave filled the space of Grand Cube Osaka. The clapping was perfectly synchronized and the rhythm was extremely good. Moreover, the sounds of the drums are not harsh on the ears, but rather spread out in an orderly way, and together with the rhythm section, they create a groove throughout the venue. Between songs, you can hear the shouts of “Dooby, the best!”, but it’s not just about making a fuss. This is a Japanese live show! The huge excitement is contained in a super clear sound. Japan is known as a famous producer of audience recordings. This is partly because there are many neat and sincere recorders, but it’s also because of this feeling. While getting very excited, the screams do not interfere with the performance or singing. The music is the main character, and the audience is pulled in and pulled up by it. This work is the highest quality version of such a “Japanese recording”. THE DOOBIE BROTHERS have returned to Japan for the first time in 16 years. This is a masterpiece live album that beautifully captures the “real” of Grand Cube Osaka, trembling with joy at the meeting. Not only does it have the three elements of “good sound, good songs, and good performance” at their finest, but it is also a superb music album that lets you immerse yourself in a passionate and beautiful frenzy. A masterpiece that is very Japanese and one that Japan can be proud of. So, please enjoy. Live at Grand Cube, Osaka, Japan 28th April 2017 TRULY PERFECT SOUND(from Original Masters) Disc 1 (44:52) 1.
