Description
The show at Costa Mesa on October 1, the opening day of the 1989 North American tour, which was a success as a solo artist with the hit “THE END OF THE INNOCENCE”, was recorded for 1 hour and 41 minutes from the master audience tape owned by the legendary taper Mike Millard, which was first unearthed in recent years. First of all, it was recorded from the first generation master of the Millard tape, which has been released one after another since 2020, and this time it is the first public sound source that will surprise fans all over the world. At this time, with the evolution of recording equipment, the entire sound is recorded with a modern, digital-like, amazing sound different from the 70s, and this time too, the sound quality is amazing, living up to the name of the Millard tape. Immediately after the release of the album, a live performance in Houston, which also served as a promotion, was broadcast on the radio, and while the broadcast disc was also in circulation, the middle part of the concert was cut out in an edit, so it should be a great item for fans who want to listen to the full version. The set list, which featured all of his solo numbers up to this point, was also amazing. Incidentally, “The End Of The Innocence” was a new song at the time, so he performed it early in the show, and after that, he performed his nostalgic solo numbers such as “New York Minute” and “The Boys Of Summer,” as well as Eagles numbers such as “Hotel California” and “Desperado,” which drew particularly loud cheers. Incidentally, former Crimson drummer Ian Wallace was in charge of the drums here, and it may be interesting for core fans to hear Wallace play Eagles classics such as “Hotel California.” In addition, at the beginning of this tour, the solo number “Building The Perfect Beast,” which was to be dropped from the set later, was still being played, and the most surprising thing was that the still unknown Sheryl Crow participated as a member of the chorus. This is a collector’s edition of the legendary Mike Millard original recordings, a must-have for fans of the past.
