Description
The complete CD of DIO’s heyday DVD “WE ROCK” is urgently imported from overseas! Of course, it’s an audio-only CD, but it’s the ultimate live album that completely records two golden-era stage performances with official sound in both name and reality! DIO’s original lineup, and when Vivian Campbell was at its peak, included highlights from the HOLY DIVER tour’s December 4, 1983 performance in Utrecht, the Netherlands, “Rinne Tensei” and the “LAST IN LINE” tour. The “Shocking Spectrum Live” performance at Philadelphia Spectrum, Pennsylvania on August 25, 1984 has been released as an official live video. However, these titles are not complete recordings of the day; for example, “Rinne Tensei” in 1983 includes RAINBOW numbers such as “Stargazer” and “Man On The Silver Mountain,” and “Shocking Spectrum Live” in 1984. However, songs such as “One Night In The City” and “Holy Diver” were not included. In addition, the official DVD “WE ROCK” which was released in 2005 by coupling these two songs, for some reason also included “Heaven And Hell” by the Netherlands in 1983 and “Stand Up” which was the opening song of the Spectrum performance in 1984. And SHout” was cut, and instead of satisfying the fans’ desire to “see and hear everything,” it went against that desire. This work that will be released this time is a complete album that includes all the songs that you “wanted to listen to but couldn’t”, and perfectly packaged the exquisite performance with a high-quality sound board sound source! The true “WE ROCK” has appeared! CD1 and CD2 up to Track 2 are the complete version of “Rinne Tensei” (82 minutes recorded), which includes the performance on December 4, 1983. The full-length soundboard sound source of this day has previously appeared as “NIGHTMARE” and has long been loved by fans as one of the valuable sound sources representing the ’83 tour. However, it is also true that the sound of this title was a bit muffled, and in the middle of “Evil Eye” there was a deterioration in the sound quality due to the distortion of the master tape, so it was lacking in quality. The sound source that became the basis for this work is a different material that is even higher than this “NIGHTMARE”, and a master newly discovered overseas is used after being fully remastered. The cloudy sound mentioned above is as clear as if it had never existed from the beginning, and the musical sound that has been wiped off all the dirt is literally reminiscent of a glaring flash. Furthermore, weak points such as the flat bass have been completely overcome, and the difference in sound quality is obvious the moment you hear it, such as a wide sound outlook and a heavy, fat bass. The more refined stereo effect and separation of performances will knock out the listener with a perfect direct feeling (in particular, everyone will be surprised by the vivid sound of Jimmy Bain’s bass)! Of course, there is no sound quality deterioration in “Evil Eye”, and you can listen to the live performance without feeling any stress. Throughout the entire show, the live performance was a combination of the highest level of spirit from the stage and the enthusiastic excitement of the audience. The live performance was made possible by the finest soundboard, and even now, 28 years later, it continues to emit a unique charm. Masu! From the opening “Stand Up And Shout” and “Straight Through The Heart”, Ronnie’s soul-shaking passionate singing and young Vivian’s machine gun play will simply overwhelm the listener. Of course, the rhythm section of Vinnie Appice and Jimmy Bain, who support the backbone of the band, and the keyboard of Claude Schnell are also indispensable parts, driving the gigantic rock machine that is DIO. In the near future, Donnington’s MONSTERS OF ROCK was released as an official live album the other day, but it was shortened due to appearance and broadcast time. However, here it is a full scale of about 90 minutes including the rare “Shame On The Night”. While focusing on songs from the album “HOLY DIVER,” key moments are filled with famous songs from RAINBOW and BLACK SABBATH, creating a captivating set list that already fully represents the band’s charm even though it’s their first tour. There will be no rock fan who won’t be in agony when listening to this sound in the middle of the live show, where RAINBOW’s “Stargazer” and BLACK SABBATH’s “Heaven And Hell” are featured one after another! The medley of “Man On The SIlver Mountain” and “Starstruck” that could not be enjoyed on the DVD “WE ROCK” is the best take that combines Ronnie’s expert technique and Vivian’s young sensibility, and dramatically concludes the main part of the live performance. . The beginning of CD2 contains the encore part of this day. “Evil Eye” begins with Ronnie’s MC saying, “It’s the first song we played at Castle Donington,” and the sharpness and crispness of Vivian’s playing, and Ronnie’s powerful singing, mesh well, and it’s another song. Along with the drama of the encore “Don’t Talk To Strangers”, it makes you feel the lingering feeling of the live performance even more. And from track 3 of CD2 to CD3, it completes the Philadelphia Spectrum performance on August 25, 1984, which became the “Shocking Spectrum Live”! The glittering and transparent sound makes you forget even words, and the sound has an even more official feel than the Utrecht performance. Each part is properly mixed, and the sound image is colored with a wonderful stereo effect, and the sound quality is superb, befitting the formality of the masterpieces being played. A full year has passed since DIO’s debut, and not only their performance but also the band’s presence has reached its peak, and you can feel the high expectations the audience has for DIO just by listening to the opening intro. “Stand Up And Shout”, which starts with the tension that has been stretched to the limit, is a masterpiece! In this song, Ronnie sings incorrectly in some parts, but the intense energy and momentum makes even that mistake feel like “another version”. This mistake may have been the reason why the song was deleted from the official DVD, but fans will probably appreciate this kind of “only for this moment” take. Along with “One Night In The City” and “Holy Diver”, which were also not included on the DVD, it is a series of great listening spots from the first half of the live! The large-scale medley that DIO is good at will be in full swing from this ’84 tour. “Holy Diver,” which starts immediately after “Egypt,” and “Heaven And Hell,” which includes a guitar solo and “The Last In Line,” are the best songs the band has made since their debut, both in terms of their composition and ability to reproduce live performances. It shows that we have continued to grow. CD3 starts with the second half of the Philadelphia performance, the dramatic “Rainbow In The Dark”. As expected, the two songs “Man On The Silver Mountain” and “Long Live Rock’N’Roll” were not included on the DVD, and many fans will probably say, “I don’t feel like DIO unless I listen to them.” Considering that all the numbers had been cut off, this suggests that there was a contractual problem.) The encore of this ’84 tour is the golden combination of “The Mob Rules” and “We Rock”! The DIO-style speed rock unfolds with a surging force, leaving the listener with no time to catch their breath. Once it’s over, the 90-minute live performance will feel like just a moment! Also, at the end of CD3, another version of “Evil Eye”, which was coupled with the 12-inch single “Rainbow In The Dark”, is additionally included. These shows, which had to be content with incomplete versions due to various circumstances in the official video, are now revived in the “correct form” of the full-length version. This is the real thrill of being a collector’s item, as it allows you to realize a “dream” that could not be achieved with the official version! This work, which is packed with the charm of DIO’s live performance that runs without a break throughout, is simmering with the deliciousness and awesomeness of DIO at its peak.
