Description

The late DIO was blessed with a surprising and superb audience. Although it was a period that did not reach the “golden 80s” in terms of popularity, there are many audience shots of an “abnormal” level. In addition to the ever-changing Ronnie James Dio’s magnificent singing, the famous video is overwhelmed by the fierce and loving angles and amazing quality. The pinnacle of this is the 2DVD “LONG LIVE DIO NYC 2000/2004”, but this work is a masterpiece that can be called the “90s version”. This work was filmed at the “Fort Wayne performance on June 11, 1998”. It is an audience shot from the era of the only official full live album “DIO’S INFERNO: THE LAST IN LIVE” during his lifetime. The greatest thing about this work is its “abnormal” quality. It is shot from the left side of the stage, but its stability and field of view are incredible. It is a super stable shot with zero obstructions, no shadows in the front row, and no shaking or blurring. If you only look at the video, it seems like a second floor seat, but the “Pierre’s Entertainment Center” where the scene was was a “large club” that can accommodate 1800 people, and there is no second floor seat. Considering the super stability that must be using a tripod, it is probably a staff shot of the venue. Not only does Ronnie not care about the camera, there is also a scene where he looks straight at the lens and smiles, and it looks like a shot of someone involved. The camera work that holds Ronnie and the zoom that approaches with a gung-ho attack are perfect, and if the sound is lined up, it would be classified as a “one-camera professional shot”. That said, the sound is also a wonderful audience sound. There is no obstruction above the enthusiastic audience seats, and it is (probably) extremely clear only for the staff position. The extremely thick musical tones, the beautifully stretched singing voices, and the enthusiasm of the audience are three-way, and the wind pressure blows out of the speakers. It’s a wonderful sound that doesn’t tremble or crack, while still giving you a sense of the closed room, closeness, and scorching heat of a small club space. The show, depicted with the best view from the staff’s perspective and great sound, is hotter than ever, DIO’S metal. Although it was a slightly unusual Tracy G era, the only song from that time was the opening song “Evilution”, and the rest were just “HOLY DIVER”, “THE LAST IN LINE”, “HEAVEN AND HELL”, and RAINBOW’s representative song rush. In particular, “HOLY DIVER” is featured, with six of the nine songs on the album being a big hit. You might think, “Isn’t that the usual?”, but the only time “HOLY DIVER” is pushed this far is right after the debut or in the album reproduction “HOLY DIVER LIVE”. In fact, in this work, the hidden masterpiece “Shame on the Night” is played for the first time in about 15 years, and some enthusiasts may be surprised that they did it in the Tracy era. Of course, since it’s Tracy, he doesn’t seem to care about “exact reproduction of the original”, but now that Ronnie is gone, we have no choice but to rely on the real 1980s footage to “follow the original”. Rather, it is meaningful and shining because of the stubborn Tracy’s unique seasoning. It is a superb quality shot that is comparable to the late DIO masterpiece “LONG LIVE DIO NYC 2000/2004”. Regardless of the wave of popularity / the size of the venue, Ronnie always sings with all his might, looking at the audience in front of him and smiling with satisfaction. A 100% masterpiece video where you can meet that Ronnie Dio again. It is a gift to those who still can’t forget the rare singer more than six years after his death.
