Description

A rare and famous singer: Ronnie James Dio. Introducing the super best soundboard set from 1983, which was a “special year” in his life. This work includes three performances. “October 5, 1983 San Jose” “October 7, 1983 Santa Monica” “December 28, 1983 Fresno”. All of them are California live shows whose radio broadcasts have been known for a long time, but this work is a 3-disc set that permanently preserves such a famous sound board with the ultimate sound of the pre-FM broadcast master. At this point, some of you may be thinking, “Huh?” Yes, these three performances have already been announced in the S masterpiece “CALIFORNIA TRILOGY”. However, this work is neither a copy nor a remastered reissue. All are upgraded boards by new excavation masters. The biggest point of this work is the wonderful “1983 Ronnie”, but first let’s introduce in detail the differences from the previous releases. [Disc 1: October 5th San Jose performance] First up is the San Jose performance. Although it is a sound board that was also adopted in the deluxe edition of the official “HOLY DIVER”, this work is a pre-FM master excavated that is longer than the official version and FM broadcast. This is a long soundboard that once appeared as the Power Gate label’s “HOLLY COLLECTION,” and it also includes “Straight Through The Heart,” “Stargazer,” “Heaven And Hell,” a guitar solo, and a drum solo that could not be heard on the broadcast (even on the official version). This disc is the latest and meticulously remastered version of that definitive soundboard. Originally, this excavated sound board boasts official quality, but “1983” is a year of great harvest of transcendent sound boards. Compared to other masterpieces, the sound was a bit flat and muddy. Therefore, in “CALIFORNIA TRILOGY”, we aimed to create a “best take collection” by combining it with short FM broadcasts. That was great, but the “pre-FM version” and “broadcast version” had different mixes. Therefore, when listening to it as a live album, the sound changed slightly depending on the song, and it felt strange to hear the loud cheers of the FM broadcast suddenly jumping in. This work is different from such “CALIFORNIA TRILOGY”, and is an improved “pre-FM version” with the latest remaster. The effect is outstanding! When you listen to it with headphones, the stereo feeling increases significantly, and you can see that even the single snare hit is in the correct position and direction as it should be. Of course, the sound has also been vividly reborn, making it a completely official sound that is comparable to other masterpieces, and it is a definitive album with zero discomfort when switching masters. [Disc 2: October 7th Santa Monica performance] The following Santa Monica performance is the best super upgrade! Actually, two air check recordings of this live performance have been known for many years. One is a long broadcast but full of noise, and the other has good sound but is short. In “CALIFORNIA TRILOGY,” we aimed to create a “best take collection” that combines both. However, later on, the original version of the long broadcast was discovered. What’s more, it was a complete version that even included a DJ, which was only known to those who were listening to the broadcast at the time. This work includes a remastered version of the complete version. Although it is called a remaster, it only removes the very slight stylus cracks and creates a sense of unity with discs 1 and 3. This excavation master was so amazing that that was all he needed. In fact, its quality easily surpasses many previous releases. Even in the highest peak “CALIFORNIA TRILOGY” so far, noise erupted depending on the song due to the best take of the moment of various broadcasts, but there was no such thing. Whether it’s the sense of unity or the momentary peak, it overwhelms all previous releases. It’s completely official grade… no, more than that. In fact, Wendy isn’t particularly particular about the quality of DIO, so it’s not uncommon for DIO to be of boot quality even when officially discovered. It’s so amazing that it makes you laugh at the disgusting officials. [Disc 3: December 28th Fresno performance] The last one to appear is the prestigious Fresno performance of “the longest broadcast in 1986”. This is a superb soundboard that also includes “Don’t Talk To Strangers” and a long version of “Heaven And Hell” that are not available on other broadcasts. This is also directly digitized from the unused pre-FM broadcast master that was discovered after “CALIFORNIA TRILOGY”. This broadcast is not as upgraded as the Santa Monica performance because the air check that has already been aired was of super high quality, but it is definitely the “top” because it is the original version. No more. However, even though it was a final broadcast, there were drawbacks to the broadcast itself. That is the reprise part of “Heaven And Hell”. The editing on the part of the broadcasting station was so rough that it suddenly cut out. Although that is the truth of the broadcast, as they have continued to have no-hit runs without giving up any runs, I would like to bring it to a perfect game if possible. In this work, the broadcast station’s cut-and-dry edits are seamlessly connected to create a perfect live album. [Too Special “Ronnie of 1983”] The “Ronnie of 1983” that is too special is depicted on such a transcendent sound board of “top” quality. At the time, Ronnie was confident in his music, but could not get support from record companies, so he had to double mortgage his house to pay for the tour. I approached the project with the mindset that if I failed, there would be no choice. That determination to die is clearly visible in the vocalizations, which are simply intense. While exuding top-notch romanticism, she barks and howls with a career-high intense singing voice! Roaring!! A true “singing demon”. Of course, since it’s Ronnie, you can feel the dripping emotion, but at the same time, he’s full of ambition. This singing voice is different from the one after the successful “THE LAST IN LINE TOUR”. After his success, Ronnie seemed to be a winner, but this “1983” was just a challenger. It is a singing voice that challenges the world with all its heart and soul. “Ronnie in 1983” was more intense than the glamorous and romantic RAINBOW era, sharper than the heavy and solemn BLACK SABBATH era, and showed a naked competitive spirit. This is the “Top”, which is the highest quality sound board upgraded with pre-FM. This is the climax of a very special live album in the life of a rare and famous singer.
