Description

From the label that is a must-have for Clapton fans, a live performance on November 29th at Painter’s Mill, famous for playing “Layla”, is recorded in best quality audience master on 2CD. First of all, “Layla” was only performed three times in the official records during the Dominos era. One was the Tampa performance famous for Duane Allman’s participation, the St. Louis performance that was unearthed when fans around the world were asked to provide recordings they had in order to create an official archive, and this Painter’s Mill performance. Moreover, the St. Louis and Painter’s Mill performances are the only two performances where the four members played together. Although the intro of “Layla” starts with a fade-in at the opening, the development into a medley of “Bell Bottom Blues” is rare, and Clapton’s spectacular solo gives you goosebumps. Other performances, such as “Tell the Truth” at a slow tempo just like the original album, are very moving, showing the young Clapton at his most brilliant period. Disc 1 : 1. Layla 2. Bell Bottom Blues 3. Blues Power 4. Stormy Monday 5. Tell The Truth Disc 2 : 1. Got To Get Better In A Little While 2. Little Wing 3. Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad 4. Have You Ever Loved a Woman 5. Let It Rain [Recorded at the painters mill music Fair, Owings ,USA November 29th 1970] â—‡Eric Clapton – Guitar, Vocals / Carl Radle – Bass / Jim Gordon – Drums / Bobby Whitlock – Keyboards
