Description

The “X TOUR 2002-2003” live in Japan accompanying their 10th album “X” is back! This work was recorded at the “Shibuya Public Hall” performance on November 26, 2002. The 2002 Japan tour had a total of 8 performances, the second largest number of dates after 1996 and 1999. First, let’s check the schedule. ・November 17th: Zepp Sendai ・November 18th: Kanazawa City Tourist Hall ・November 20th: Aichi Welfare Pension Hall ・November 21st: Osaka Welfare Pension Hall ・November 22nd: Kanagawa Prefectural Hall ・November 25th: Shibuya Public Hall ・November 26th: Shibuya Public Hall ・November 27th: Shibuya Public Hall [This work] In this way, the last three performances of the Japan tour were three consecutive days at Shibuya Public Hall. In fact, DEF LEPPARD has performed live at Shibuya Public Hall since their first visit to Japan in 1984. Moreover, it was the first day of their first visit to Japan, and they returned to their “first stage in Japan” at the end of the Japan tour. The master that recorded that monumental live was once normally released as “WE WON’T FORGET YOU!” This time, it has been remastered using the latest standards from the original master provided by the recording artist himself. The sound is one of the best on the 2002 tour. There is a reverberation of the venue that can be called “just like a sound board”, but it softly wraps the bold musical sound with a direct feeling, and if you close your eyes, you can imagine the space of Shibuya Public Hall. And yet, the solid core sound seems to penetrate through the reverberations. DEF LEPPARD’s show that jumps out on that sound is a sudden surprise. The intro sounds familiar but you don’t know what song it is… “Ring Of Fire” was the B-side of the single “ARMAGEDDON IT”! Although this day is not the first performance (the first performance was in Sendai this year), it is a start with an extremely rare song that has only been recorded a few times in “X TOUR 2002-2003” even in its long history. Moreover, to my surprise, the audience on this day understood the song instantly and welcomed it with loud cheers. Even though we were already in the internet era at the time, it was a scene that once again made us realize how hugely popular they were, and how many fans were looking forward to checking out the latest set list one by one. In fact, this tour also became a hot topic because the set list changed depending on the day. Two very different sets were prepared, one was “Set A” which suddenly hit the A-side 5 songs of “HIGH ‘N’ DRY”, and the other was “Set B” which started with “Ring Of Fire”. Moreover, even this “Set A/B” was just the basics, and depending on the day, there were additional bonus songs. In fact, this last day was “Set B”, but “Two Steps Behind”, “PYROMANIA”’s “Stagefright”, and “Wasted” of “ON THROUGH THE NIGHT” were also added. In this work and the 8-performance Japan tour, the gifts only for this day are firmly recorded. This is a live album that captures DEF LEPPARD, who returned to the memorial venue of their first stage in Japan, with a wonderful master sound. What’s more, it’s a masterpiece where you can enjoy plenty of surprises and gifts that are only available on this tour. Don’t miss this opportunity to get one of the most comprehensive “DEF LEPPARD in Japan” albums out there.
