Description
Introducing a live album where you can experience the ultra-rare “HIGH ‘N’ DRY” semi-reproduction set with super-excellent sound. This rare show was held here in Japan. This work is a superb audience recording vacuum-packed from beginning to end of “November 21, 2002: Osaka Welfare Pension Hall”. At that time, it was about 4 months since the release of “X”. He also visited Japan as part of his world tour. As some of you may remember, while the tour was held with a basic set, a semi-reproduction of “HIGH ‘N’ DRY” was realized only in a few performances. First of all, let’s check the situation based on the schedule of arrival in Japan at that time. ・November 17th: Zepp Sendai★November 18th: Kanazawa City Tourist Hall・November 20th: Aichi Welfare Pension Hall★November 21st: Osaka Welfare Pension Hall [This work]・November 22nd: Kanagawa Prefectural Citizens Hall・November 25th: Shibuya Public Hall★November 26th: Shibuya Public Hall・November 27th: Shibuya Public Hall A total of 8 performances. It was the highest number of performances in the history of their visit to Japan, but only three performances were half-reproductions of “HIGH ‘N’ DRY.” This work is a live album that allows you to experience the scene in the highest quality. In fact, the sound of this work is beyond exquisite. It is an original master by the same legendary master as “OSAKA 1999)” released at the same time this week, but the intensely on-core and crystal clear atmosphere are wonderful. Although it is an audience recording that includes lively clapping and applause, the performance sound and singing voice that cut through the middle are extremely thick. If you listen carefully with headphones, you can’t help but feel that the sound of the snare sounds like a guest record, but the outline is as sharp as a laser beam, and there is no sense of distance. The deep bass is delicate, even the vibe of the bass, and the details of the guitar, vocals, and chorus emit a sparkle. It is a sound board-like super vivid sound that is completely different from the sound you imagine with so-called “audience recording”. The impact that surpasses that vivid sound is the semi-reproduction of “HIGH ‘N’ DRY”. While “Disintegrate”, which announces the start of the performance, is playing vigorously, the five people who appeared on stage sing “Let It Go”! “Another Hit & Run” continues that momentum, and it’s been a while since “High ‘n’ Dry”… Now that we’ve come this far, it’s an abnormal situation. Without any MC in between, the five songs on side A of “HIGH ‘N’ DRY” play out at once. What’s so amazing about this momentum? The enthusiasm of the venue is clear from the loud applause between songs, but it is extremely quiet during the performance. The mood of being stunned and overwhelmed by nostalgic numbers one by one is clearly engraved. In fact, at that time, even the enthusiasts who followed all the performances said that the performance was “the best show of 2002!!” and it was a big hit. Of course, the first five songs alone will not make it a No. 1 show. It’s amazing because the overheated heat never stops. After finishing the half-reenactment, I thought it was the MC, but the “Action” got off to a lively start with shouts of “Kombanwa!” and “Osaka!!” as greetings. After that, it was already gorgeous. Greatest hits rush one after another, with new songs unique to that time, “You’re So Beautiful,” “Long Long Way To Go,” “Four Letter Word,” and “Now.” In particular, the rush of “HYSTERIA” at the end is a near-half reproduction of Awaya. It is not a reproduction because “Love Bites” is missing and “Photograph” is inserted, but other than that, the order of the songs is the same as side A of “HYSTERIA”. At the beginning, you can experience a half-reenactment of “HIGH ‘N’ DRY,” and the excitement is so high that you can’t help but wonder, “What if this is happening!?!?” Please…). The Osaka Welfare Pension Hall became the No. 1 performance of “JAPAN TOUR 2002”. It is a masterpiece that allows you to fully experience that extremely rare night with the super best sound of bare feet on the sound board. Although the band tends to have similar sets, this work is completely different. It’s not just the sound, it’s not just the set. This is a very special live album where the enthusiasm that comes from a rare night is swirling and even the performance is energized.
