Description
This work contains the “Denver performance on February 13, 1988”. It is the official multi-camera pro shot. It is a big decision video at the peak, but it has only been released in Japan on VHS and has not yet been made into a DVD. It has also been made into a DVD overseas, but it did not have the subtitles unique to the Japanese version. Therefore, a VHS collector provided us with a brand new VHS, and we revived it with the highest quality. After all, this collector’s VHS collection is in an abnormally good state of preservation. I don’t know what kind of warehouse it is stored in, but it is in a shiny state that does not feel like 30 years have passed. If it was just the exterior, it would be understandable, but when you play it, there is no tape twist, distortion, or even noise, and the image and sound come out almost as perfect as a laser disc. Until now, we have reprinted Y&T, BON JOVI, GARY MOORE, etc. from this collector’s collection, but this DEF LEPPARD is also completely perfect, and the essential Japanese subtitles stand out with a clear edge as if they were digitally layered. The image quality and sound quality revives DEF LEPPARD from the era of the monster hit “HYSTERIA”. As explained in the commentary on the main press 2CD, the set is a concentrated reduction of the two big hits “PYROMANIA” and “HYSTERIA”. Several songs were cut from the performance on the day, which has further increased the purity. And his brilliance as he presents the golden set list is dazzling. The performance of the invincible spinning melodies with a burst of momentum fills the screen. And there is Steve Clark. This “HYSTERIA World Tour” was not just the heyday, but also a joyous tour with the return of Rick Allen, and Steve’s last world tour before his death. Joe Elliott introduced with a big smile, “I’ll introduce you to my best friend, Steve Clark on guitar!” and entered into a guitar solo, and when he said, “Steve Clark with a Gibson 18-string!” he started strumming. The Japanese subtitles allow you to feel the nuances and mood directly. Other anecdotes about the songs and words of gratitude to the audience are also subtitled, but the highlight is the MC introducing “Pour Some Sugar On Me”. Joe begins to speak with deep emotion, “These four years have been long…”. “A lot has happened. There have been good things and bad things, but the best thing that happened was… the scene where he shouts, “The God of Thunder, Rick Allen, is back!” Rick lost one arm in a traffic accident on December 31, 1984. Without even thinking about changing members, he made a comeback by developing a dedicated kit that was unprecedented in rock history, and the first release, “HYSTERIA,” was a monster hit and the tour was a huge success. The MC reflects on the great comeback from the depths of despair when they even considered breaking up the band. DEF LEPPARD has experienced tragedy and comebacks like no other in rock history. Steve Clark’s final appearance coolly enjoying the joy. More than just a live video that symbolizes the era, this is a masterpiece full of memorable moments.
