Description
The “miraculous spring” that was between RAINBOW and DEEP PURPLE. It was the 1975 European tour that took place just before Ritchie Blackmore left the band. The other day, the newly excavated “COPENHAGEN 1975” from this tour was very well received, but another masterpiece recording has appeared. This is the audience album of the “March 21, 1975 Gothenburg Performance”. First of all, let me explain once again why the last European tour was so special. November 1974: Release of “Storm Messenger” November 13, 1974 – December 18, 1974: North America (19 shows) January 25, 1975: Australia (1 show) February-March 1975: Production of “Silver Mountain Champion” March 16, 1975 – April 7, 1975: Europe (12 shows) ←★Here★ Ritchie Blackmore leaves the band This is the full story of the “STORMBRINGER WORLD TOUR 1974-1975”, which only had 32 shows. After 20 shows in North America and Australia, Ritchie produced “Silver Mountain Champion” with ELF’s Ronnie James Dio. Feeling a sense of accomplishment there, he decided to form RAINBOW. The 12 shows on the European tour that followed were just a dead end for Ritchie, but the strange thing about rock is that it doesn’t drag on, but rather the opposite. Although Richie had already completed “The Silver Mountain Champion” and his heart had moved to his new band RAINBOW, his new possibility-filled psychology was not cooled down and he was slammed on the stage of DEEP PURPLE, and he performed a series of great performances day after day. The fulfillment of the performance was also seen in the official live albums “MADE IN EUROPE” and “MK III: THE FINAL CONCERTS” compiled from the last three days, but the miracle was not only in those three days. This work is a live album that proves that. Let’s look back on those miraculous 12 days by schedule.・March 16th & 17th: 2 performances in Yugoslavia ・March 20th: Denmark “COPENHAGEN 1975” ・March 21st: Sweden [this work] ・March 23rd-30th: 5 performances on the German tour ・April 3rd: Austria (official edition) ・April 5th: Germany (official edition) ・April 7th: France (official edition) The above is the full picture of the last 12 performances of the European tour. This work was recorded the day after the recent “COPENHAGEN 1975”. The quality is a magnificent vintage audience. Above all, the power to convey the tense performance is amazing. There are some scenes that tend to be a little over-peaked, but that seems to be an advantage rather than a drawback. KING CRIMSON’s “EARTHBOUND” became a masterpiece because the performance and sound miraculously matched, and this work also has that magic. If you write it like this, you might think it’s a tremendous explosion, but of course, we won’t press it. Although it has a pillow word “for the 70’s”, it is a sound that can be proudly recommended as “wonderful”. However, it can’t be said to be “like a sound board”. In the first place, this recording itself was once known as “GYPSY IN SWEDEN”, but this work uses a younger generation master. The mastering also made full use of its naturalness (a sound that does not need to add power in the first place). The recording itself has a vintage feel, but the freshness of the master is so fresh that it is hard to believe that it has been over 41 years, and it is definitely the best live album of Gothenburg 75 in existence. How exciting and uplifting was the “birth of RAINBOW” for Richie? It was a masterpiece that was slammed with a performance without even having to put it into words. The miraculous final European tour had a total of 12 performances, but the only recordings left were the three performances that were the basis for the official “MADE IN EUROPE” and “MK III: THE FINAL CONCERTS” and the three audience performances (March 20th, 21st, and 30th), and this is one of them that has been permanently preserved with the best sound. The awesomeness of the final European tour is that it is a masterpiece of a live album that flows from the speakers with 100% real sound. For those who were shocked by “COPENHAGEN 1975” and those who want to hear as many performances as possible of the “miraculous spring of 1975”. This is truly a “MADE IN (NORTHERN) EUROPE”. Live at Scandinavium, Gothenburg, Sweden 21st March 1975
