Description

From the 1991 European tour accompanying the release of DEEP PURPLE’s “SLAVES AND MASTERS”, the performance in Munich, Germany on February 15th, which is the middle part, will be released. With excellent audience shots provided by overseas collectors, you can enjoy the live performance of the sixth PURPLE in detail. DEEP PURPLE, who welcomed Joe Lynn Turner as a new vocalist to replace Ian Gillan, began a tour of continental Europe at the end of January 1991 after the announcement of “SLAVES AND MASTERS”. About 20 performances were held until the performance in Brussels, Belgium on March 8. The main focus was on live performances in France and Germany. In particular, in Germany, a total of eight performances were shown, starting with the performance in Frankfurt on February 13 and ending with the performance in Wurzburg on February 23. In this work, the live performance at the Munich “Olympia Hall” on February 15th, the third day of the German tour, is recorded almost completely for 88 minutes with a reliable audience shot. The live video of this day has been known to enthusiasts since the VTR era under titles such as “BLACK NIGHT OVER EUROPE”, and items using that sound source have also been circulating. However, many of those already released titles were incomplete versions that only included “Lazy”. In contrast, this work firmly records the live performance from the opening “Burn” to the encore “Smoke On The Water”. Of course, the image quality and sound quality of this video are so excellent that you forget that it has already been released. The stability, brightness, and easy-to-listen-to sound are more than enough, and it can be said that they are excellent among the audience shots of the same period. Furthermore, from the right hand side facing the stage, the band’s performance is captured with a composition that is easy to see and full of power, and the scenes that fans want to see, such as Joe’s action and Richie’s solo, are properly captured. The skillful zoom shots are also impressive. When the players are up close, you can even see their facial expressions (due to the high level of master freshness). Pace’s drums are in good condition on this day, and he leads the band ensemble with great momentum in “Burn” and “Black Night”. Richie and John also play with great force, as if they can’t lose to Pace. Joe also moves around the stage, and excites the fans at the venue with his youthful actions. All of the songs from “SLAVES AND MASTERS” that can only be heard on this ’91 tour are attractive. The fantastic and dramatic “Truth Hurts” and “King Of Dreams”, the sharp and tense “The Cut Runs Deep” that cuts into the audience, and the melodic “Love Conquers All” are great highlights. Richie’s guitar is also very lively, and you can fully enjoy “Ritchie’s music” that was not realized in his activities with Gillan. From “Difficult To Cure” to “Knocking At Your Back Door” in the second half of the show, John’s organ and keyboards are played wonderfully, drawing cheers from the fans. Don’t miss “Lazy,” where Richie, John, Pace and Roger each show off their charms. Fans will be glued to the show until the encore “Smoke On The Water,” which includes “Woman From Tokyo.” The “SLAVES AND MASTERS” tour is a special tour not only for PURPLE fans, but also for RAINBOW fans, as Richie and Joe performed a full-scale live show together for the first time in seven years since RAINBOW in 1984. That’s why fans will want to enjoy this show more on video than on sound. Live at Olympiahalle, Munich, Germany 15th February 1991 AMAZING-SHOT!!! 1. Intro. 2. Burn 3. Black Night (incl.
