Description
From the UK leg of the final stage of the 1987 European tour accompanying the release of “HOUSE OF BLUE LIGHT”, the Birmingham performance on March 7th was recorded in complete from the good audience master excavated for the first time in recent years. First, at this NEC Arena, two consecutive performances were held on the following day, the 8th, and while the second day had been distributed until now, the first day’s sound source was also seen for the first time. Starting with the tour’s standard “Highway Star”, “Strange Kind Of Woman” featuring “Jesus Christ Superstar” unique to this tour, and Richie also started playing smoothly and freshly on “Unwritten Law”, and after playing with a high degree of freedom on “Child In Time”, he connected it to “Woman From Tokyo” following the intro of “Wring That Neck”, etc. The atmosphere of the band and Richie’s tension were also outstanding on this day, and he showed a good performance throughout the whole volume. In addition, the solid and hard “Hard Lovin’ Woman” is rare because it is not played often, and at the end, everyone gathers around the drum riser to play Space Truckin’, which ends with the wonderful and enthusiastic “Smoke On The Water”. Richie later said that this 1987 tour was the best, so this is a must-listen item for fans. disc 1 : 1. INTRO/2. HIGHWAY STAR/3. STRANGE KIND OF WOMAN/4. THE UNWRITTEN LAW/DRUM SOLO/5. BLUES/6.
