Description
DEEP PURPLE in 1970, who caused the biggest revolution in HR/HM history with the absolute masterpiece “IN ROCK”. The oldest recording that allows you to experience the scene has been upgraded. It has been decided to release it on a newly excavated master CD. The work is engraved with the “March 4, 1970 Zurich performance”. It is the legendary audience recording. The biggest point of this work is the upgrade sound, but at the same time, “the oldest audience recording in 1970” is also historical. To know the situation, let’s look back on the historic 1970 steps with a schedule. Europe #1 ・January 19th – February 16th (13 performances) *February 19th “IN CONCERT (official BBC)” ・February 20th – 28th (7 performances) *March 4th: Zurich performance ←★This work★ ・March 6th – 30th (17 performances) *April 4th “KOLN 1970” ・April 6th – 25th (6 performances) {April? “IN ROCK” completed on May 1st – June 2nd (14 performances) “IN ROCK” released on June 3rd – June 6th + 7th (3 performances) * June 8th “BASEL 1970” – June 9th – July 5th (10 performances) * July 10th “AACHEN 1970 (official)” – July 11th: Munich performance * July 14th “DOING THEIR THING (official video)” – July 31st + August 9th (2 performances) USA – August 15th – 30th (7 performances) Europe #2 – September 6th – December 12th (49 performances) ← * Official STOCKHOLM 1970 and others The legendary recording that allows you to experience the oldest on-site has been upgraded. This is DEEP PURPLE in 1970. The first half of the year, “Europe #1” was particularly historic, with the production/release of “IN ROCK” and official live performances such as “IN CONCERT” and “DOING THEIR THING”. The Zurich performance of this work is the second longest record after the BBC studio live “IN CONCERT”, and was also the oldest audience recording in 1970 (this recording was once “March 5th”, but has now been corrected to “4th”). This work is a new master that updates the highest peak of such a legendary recording. It was recently released by the world-famous collector “Lucifer Burns”, and is a masterpiece transferred from an analog cassette. From the beginning, a part that could not be heard on the conventional version pops out (previously it faded in from Gillan’s MC, but this work is recorded from the squelch sound before that), but that is just evidence of the young generation. The important thing is the sound that runs through the entire work, which is remarkably natural. If you have experienced the conventional version, you will know that this recording is a vintage one. The recording conditions are the same, but the conventional version was often equalized to hide the dubbing marks, and some of the high notes were abusive and piercing. However, the new master has almost no dubbing marks in the first place, and there is no need to process it with unrefined equalization. Moreover, the resolution is increased because of the finely retained subtleties, and it feels even more vivid in real life. At this point, even the recording conditions that are a bit loud seem like a sound for aggression, which is also common to “IN ROCK” (there is also a drop in one channel at the beginning of “Speed King”, but the jiggly noise of the original sound has been reduced. The sense of incongruity has been minimized). A live performance with intense tension that even “IN ROCK” is hazy. Such a real sound revives a miraculous live performance that seems to have blown up “IN ROCK” with stage tension. In fact, it’s a big point to be able to hear “Hush” just before the set ends, but what’s even more amazing is the explosive tension that fills the entire album. After all, at the time of this work, “IN ROCK” was still in production. The five members with that historical potential went on stage, and they improvised with even more excitement and concentration. The phrases that they clashed with each other were not habitual or preconceived, and it was clear that they were playing as they came up with them. Furthermore, each melody was extremely sharp, and the momentum and rushing force were incredible. The nuances that would not be conveyed even if they were written down on a musical score were so strong that even the members themselves would not be able to reproduce them twice. The aforementioned “Hush” has also been completely transformed into “IN ROCK” mode, and the struggle between the guitar and organ and Gillan’s shout are divine. Why were they able to create “IN ROCK”? Why couldn’t they create it twice? This is a miraculous live album that tells us the reason more clearly than a thousand words. “Well, there’s no way this kind of tension can continue”… The new master’s persuasiveness has been doubled by the upgraded sound. The legendary audience recording of the “March 4, 1970 Zurich performance”. The oldest audience recording of the second phase, the upgraded master recently released by the famous collector “Lucifer Burns”. Not only is it longer than before, but the sound that runs through the entire work is much more natural. You can experience the miraculous live performance where the band’s potential during the production of “IN ROCK” was blown up by the stage tension. It’s the strongest purple title in recent years!
