Description

In 1975, the second day of the “COME TASTE THE BAND” tour following the Honolulu premiere, and the first day of the Oceania performance on November 13th, New Zealand’s Auckland performance was recorded in full with a high-quality audience recording. At the beginning, David says “New Zealand, thank you for coming to see us,” so it is definitely the sound source of that day. The sound quality is excellent, and the intro part of Smoke On The Water and the drum solo in Lazy are unreceived, but from the intro that conveys a vivid texture to the last Highway Star, it is captured with a very clear sound, and it is a very excellent content that fans must listen to. Among fans, the sound sources of the Sydney performance on November 20th and the Melbourne performance on the 26th are popular, but this Auckland sound source has a longer recording time and more songs than those, and the sound quality is recorded with a natural high sound quality that is easy to listen to, so it is a must-have and must-listen for collectors. The high quality of this recording can be confirmed by the intro drum sound check, the less muffled bass, and the clear vocal warm-up. Burn also has a relaxed performance by all members, Tommy also shows off a bold and aggressive play, and Glen’s clearly recorded machine gun-like bass play is also exciting. David introduces the song Lady Luck with jokes, and Tommy responds with guitar. David’s voice is very good and his high-frequency control is impeccable. Tommy’s sticky guitar in Love Child, which follows the MC saying “It’s a new song, but please get excited,” also stands out, and the high quality of the performance shows that the members are playing in a very positive mood. David & Glen’s luxurious twin vocals and John’s fusion-style synth solo along with the sharp backing rhythm also give a sense of the direction of this period. Gettin’ Tighter, introduced as a song featuring Glenn Hughes, features Tommy and Glenn’s lively performance, and you can enjoy the performance of the new Purple’s true essence, which is full of funky charm. Smoke On The Water is presumed to be a big hit in the venue, but it was recorded in front of the PA, and the musical tones are recorded on, so you can listen to the intense performance with surprisingly realistic high sound quality. The momentum-filled play of the mid-stage solo that unfolds following David’s shout of “Tommy Bolin!” is overwhelming, and the unique tone and high-tension melody that are not influenced by Richie’s image will heat up all the listeners. John’s organ solo in the second half, backed by Glenn’s roaring bass, is also full of power, and the listeners have no choice but to listen silently to the tremendous flood of sound. Glenn’s vocals in Georgia On My Mind, which changes the scene completely, are just like God. The charm of the 4th generation Purple, with a full cast of actors, explodes. After David’s relaxed MC, “Don’t say vulgar words,” he introduces “New guitarist Tommy’s solo “Teaser” to Wild Dogs.” Tommy’s gentle and powerful vocals full of American mood, Ian Paice and other back members who cheer him on, and the slide solo in the second half are overwhelming. After the show, Glen introduces “Super Splended, Wonderful man, wonderful Tommy Bolin, New Member.” David then MCs the audience, apparently at the request of the audience. “Tommy (please be quiet), I have a message for a woman named Sandra Niven in the venue. Your relative is sick. Please go to the emergency room as soon as possible!” he says. (David’s MC immediately after Burn stated that the audience for that day was a large 20,000 people at the stadium performance. In a way, the artist making such an announcement gives a sense of the generous 70’s mood.) I Need Love, which replaces Disc 2, also features sharp and sharp playing with high sound quality. The sound image is surprisingly close, like a line recording. Unfortunately, Lazy does not have a drum solo, but the vocal parts shared by the two, and Tommy’s accurate playing, which makes him feel the sharpness of Richie, are worth listening to. Glenn’s emotional vocals and spacey guitar backing in This Time Around, which starts with a relaxed MC by John, Glenn, and Tommy, are excellent. The 7-minute guitar solo following Owed to ‘G’ goes straight to Drifter, which has a strong riff. You can enjoy Tommy’s original solo playing throughout the entire album. You Keep On Moving starts with a full mood as David says, “The title track of the previous album… no, I’m wrong, it’s a new single before that.” After the joke that “The next song is called TUNING UP,” he powerfully calls for “Stormbringer.” In this song, you can hear Tommy’s heavy riffs and intense solo play throughout the whole song. The encore is Highway Star, and you can enjoy a fun ending where the band and the audience are united in the festive mood unique to a large venue. The original solo play that does not feel the influence of Richie at all is magnificent, and the band must have been sure of the selection of people. At the beginning of the tour, this fulfilling stage is truly amazing, and you can enjoy the moving moments where Tommy’s talented play leads the band to a new extreme with real and clear sound. Sound quality, content, value, everything is superb. A superb title that is sure to make everyone ecstatic with the quality and content that exceeds your imagination! This is recommended!
