Description
Two unreleased performances of the second Purple are here for the first time! Both are coupled with high-quality sound sources that have recently appeared. Discs 1 and 2 are from the Iceland performance held on June 18, 1971, which is recorded quite clearly for an audience recording at the time, and the power is undeniable. The vocals are a little off, but Richie’s guitar is mixed in quite loudly. And disc 3 is the San Bernardino performance on January 28, 1972, which is the best sound quality of the time in terms of balance, power, and clarity, and it can be said that there is probably nothing that can surpass this in their live CDs of the year. Unfortunately, neither is a complete recording, but it is surprising that such high-quality sound sources have not been released until now, and it is a must-have album that fans cannot miss! disc one: 1. TUNE UP, 2. SPEED KING, 3. STRANGE KIND OF WOMAN, 4. INTO THE FIRE, 5. CHILD IN TIME; disc two: 1. PAINT IT BLACK (incl. DRUMS SOLO), 2. MANDRAKE ROOT Live at Laugardasholl, Reykjavik, Iceland 6/18/1971; disc three: 1. TUNE UP, 2. SPEED KING, 3. STRANGE KIND OF WOMAN, 4. CHILD IN TIME, 5. THE MULE (incl. DRUMS SOLO), 6. SPACE TRUCKIN’, 7. MANDRAKE ROOT Live at Swing Auditorium, San Bernardino, California, USA 1/28/1972
