Description

The Joe Lynn Turner era is a singular point in the glorious history of deep purple. A new upgrade master has been discovered for this famous recording! The best take of the super rare songs is also available on a delicious full live album 2CD. The “February 8, 1991 performance in Lyon” is permanently preserved in this work. It is a superb audience recording. Purple is a band with an advanced official archive, but the only exception is the Joe era. Not a single live album has been released and it has been ignored. The official substitutes are soundboard masterpieces such as “DEFINITIVE SAO PAULO 1991”, “DEFINITIVE PHILADELPHIA 1991” and “ISRAEL FIRE”. Despite this being an audience recording, it is comparable to those soundboards…or rather, it is an important work that surpasses them. In order to explain the meaning, let’s start by unraveling the outline of their activities at that time. 1990 “SLAVES AND MASTERS” released on October 22nd 1991 February 4th – March 17th: Europe #1 (30 performances) ←★Here★ April 10th – May 15th: North America (9 performances) ←※PHILADELPHIA 1991 June 24th – July 3rd: Asia (6 performances) August 16th – 24th: South America (7 performances) ←※SAO PAULO 1991 September 14th – 26th: Europe #2 (5 performances) September 28th + 29th: Israel (2 performances) ←※ISRAEL FIRE This is DEEP PURPLE in the Joe Lynn Turner era. The album was released in 1990, but the tour lasted about 8 months around the world in the following year, 1991. The Lyon performance of this work was the opening act of “Europe #1”, which was the main leg of the show. From here, famous professional shots are also mass-produced, so let’s focus on the dates further. Details of “Europe # 1” * February 4 “WICKED NIGHT (Ostrava)” * February 5 “MASTER OF HUNGARY (Budapest)” * February 6 “MASTER OF HUNGARY (Zagreb)” * February 8: Lyon performance ← ★ This work ★ February 9-March 17 (26 performances) … and so on. From the first day of the tour, three days were Eastern Europe tours, and professional shots were left from those three performances. The Lyon performance of this work was the first day after returning to the west side immediately after that. It was the very early show of the fourth tour. The famous recording has been known for a long time on this day, but this work is also the same recording but has been significantly upgraded. The excavation route is not just a thing, but it is the original master who jumped out of the collection of that master “Stephane”! If you have read this article, you may already know that Mr. Stephane was a recording artist who was active in Central Europe from the late 1980s to the early 1990s, and has recently released a large number of new HR/HM sound sources. Recordings that no one has ever heard before tend to attract attention, but among them, it is often revealed that “that masterpiece was also recorded by Stephane!” This work is a good example of this. Moreover, the upgrade range is amazing because it is the original master. The conventional master was clearly a drop in the gene, and some boards were even kinky with flashy equalization that hides the dubbing marks. However, this work is super natural. The clarity without dubbing marks is fresh all the way, and the direct feeling is strong as if the recording position had moved several rows forward. The tone is not mistaken for a sound board, but the vividness of the extremely thick and on core and the fine details are completely sound board class. Such a sound alone is intense, but even more importantly, the show content is because it is the early days of the tour. Let’s organize the set here. Slaves & Masters (6 songs) Truth Hurts / The Cut Runs Deep / Fire In The Basement / King Of Dreams / Love Conquers All / Wicked Ways (★) Classics (8 songs + α) Phase II: Black Night (incl. Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll) / Lazy / Highway Star / Smoke On The Water (incl. Woman From Tokyo) Phase V: Perfect Strangers / Knockin’ At Your Back Door Others: Burn / Blues / Difficult To Cure *Note: ★ marks are limited songs from the early part of the tour that were not performed at the Japan tour. There is still no “Child In Time” and “King Of Dreams” is also missing, but even with that out of the way, there is still more to come: the hidden masterpiece “Wicked Ways”! This is a very rare song that was only performed at the beginning of the tour, and has never been featured by either Richie or Joe’s solo work since then, but this is the best sound and best performance. This is the best take that overwhelms the soundboard sound of the Ostrava performance pro shot. In addition, Joe made a mistake in the lyrics in “Burn” and Richie made a mistake at the beginning of “Woman From Tokyo”, making it a fun live album with early-stage likeness, but above all, “Wicked Ways” is the best ever. This is all there is to it. Although it is an audience, it boasts a listening response equal to or greater than that of many soundboards, and is a new masterpiece that has joined the ranks of the masterpieces of the “SLAVES AND MASTERS Tour” at once. A superb audience recording of the “February 8, 1991 Lyon performance”. A famous recording by the popular master “Stephane”, the original master made public by himself. The sound is an upgrade of a different class, and the thickness of the core, the fineness of the details, and the zero-distance direct feeling are completely soundboard class. The motivated show at the beginning of the tour was also wonderful, and you can enjoy the super rare song “Wicked Ways”, which is the best take that reaches the pinnacle in both sound and performance.
