Description
At this very moment, the newly excavated soundboard master of “California Jam” is shaking collectors all over the world. The DEEP PURPLE edition, which is the favorite, has been decided to be permanently preserved! This work was recorded, of course, at “Ontario Motor Speedway Park on April 6, 1974”. It was “that night”, the biggest stage of DEEP PURPLE in the 1970s. It has already been made into an official work in live albums and videos, and is a legend that is definitely featured in all kinds of documentaries. It may seem like “What’s the shock now?” because it is a symbolic performance that no Purple fan knows, but this new excavation is completely different from previous broadcasts and official ones. It is a super direct sound filled with the sound of the on-site soundboard itself. A newly excavated master where “the sound of Cali Jam” pops out from your home speaker. The difference may be easier to understand if you talk about the origin rather than putting the sound quality into words. What was excavated this time was the 1st generation, which was dubbed directly from the reel tape that was being turned at the site on the day of the festival. This reel was on stage and recorded from a microphone placed in front of the amplifier. In other words, strictly speaking, it is not a “line recording”, but what is recorded there is the sound that the on-site PA was spitting out. There is almost no presence of the large crowd of 250,000 people, and there is no insincere processing to create a concert experience. Only the extremely thick legendary live performance roars shamelessly as if it is climbing into your brain with dirty feet. It is such a super-synchronized sound. Moreover, it is the best. In the case of DEEP PURPLE, there are a lot of genuine official works, so it is difficult to say, but in the simultaneously excavated BLACK SABBATH edition “ZODIAC 494”, it is expressed as “the highest peak in history”. It surpassed (significantly) all conventional records, including the official history video, and completely dismissed them. In the case of DEEP PURPLE, the difference between “work-like sound” and “directly connected, unprocessed sound” is more important, but the sound quality itself is super-excellent, just like the BLACK SABBATH edition. However, this newly excavated master was not perfect. The tape ran out of control in the second half of the show, “You Fool No One”. It was very disturbed. Therefore, in this work, that part was replaced with the official DVD audio. The full show is recorded, including the few minutes that were cut in the original sound on the net. In addition, the pitch that was randomly disturbed in the original sound on the net was also corrected. It has been achieved to a level of completion that can be enjoyed as a “live music work” rather than as “evidence on the scene”. The destruction sound and the stunned DJ are super realistic historical experience boards. In such a replacement part, you can feel the powerful and unparalleled direct feeling of the newly excavated reel. The official sound that felt so harsh feels so docile. Moreover, the super powerful sound is not limited to the performance. This show is symbolized by Ritchie Blackmore’s stage explosion and guitar crash, but the destruction sound is also intense! After all, it is the sound from the scene, and it is completely unprocessed. The impact sound is also vivid, and the screams of the equipment itself are poured into your brain as they are. Moreover, the noise is mixed with the harsh continuous hits of Ian Paice, who is still alive, and Jon Lord’s distorted crazy synths, creating an incredible chaos. Clash is often spoken of as an expression of the rock spirit, but it is not just a performance. The “sound” it produces is avant-garde music that expresses a crazy world, and it is experimental rock that creates a sense of elation just by listening to it. The sound that flows from this work is a fierce sound that once again confronts such a fact. The end of such a show is also worth listening to. This new excavation also includes a closing announcement that thanks DEEP PURPLE for their passionate performance and introduces the next EL&P. This is already super real. After all, what was unfolding just a moment ago was a legendary stage that is unparalleled in rock history. The shock of witnessing the literal explosive performance is clearly evident in the announcer’s voice, and he somehow manages to spit out the lines that were decided without any force. In other words, this work is a soundboard of on-site sound that can be felt even with the breath. It’s just amazing. It’s too amazing. Is this really the “Cali Jam” that I’ve been listening to with my ears…? The performance is certainly the same. The singing voice is the same. Even though they’re doing everything the same, it sounds completely different. It’s a shocking super direct soundboard that teaches us such “on-site PA sound”. A superb stereo soundboard recording of the newly excavated “April 6, 1974 California Jam” performance, which completely changed the highlight night of Purple’s entire history. It is a newly excavated master that is completely different from conventional broadcasts and official, and the output sound was recorded directly with a microphone placed in front of the amplifier on stage. The unprocessed sound without cheers is super real and super direct, and only the extremely thick legendary live performance comes into my brain with a dirty foot. “You Fool No One”, which was distorted in the original sound on the net, has been replaced with the official DVD audio, and live music works have also been realized. You can experience the legendary show anew with ultra-synchronized sound. “California Jam I”, Ontario Motor Speedway, CA, USA 6th April 1974 STEREO SBD(NEW SOURCE!!!) Disc 1 (40:29) 1. Intro 2.
