Description

This is a super treasure live performance for fans, recorded for the first time from a precious soundboard recording of the appearance at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland in 1981, where he appeared with a super luxurious lineup of top-class members from the jazz fusion world at that time. First of all, the participating members are Mike Mainieri on vibraphone, Neil Larsen on keyboards, Robben Ford on guitar, Marcus Miller on bass, Ricky Lawson, an original member of the Yellow Jackets, on drums, and Lenny Castro on percussion, who has participated in hundreds of albums including albums by Red Hot Chili Peppers, Adele, Maroon 5, U2, and the Rolling Stones. This is a one-off album where you can fully enjoy Sanborn’s funky and mellow alto with superstars who are unimaginable now. You can’t talk about Sanborn without listening to this rare live performance. In addition, a live performance at Grugahalle, Germany in 1985 is recorded as a soundboard recording as a bonus track, and Al Jarreau appears as a vocalist on “Since I Fell for You”, captivating the audience with his mellow and beautiful voice. I think this live performance is an important recording in the history of Sanborn. 1.Introduction 2.Love Is Not Enough 3.Lotus Blossom 4.Member Introduction 5.Hideaway 6.Hideaway 7.Straight To The Heart 8.Anything You Want 9.Since I Feel For You(with Al Jarreau) Tracks 1-5:Live at Montreux Jazz Festival, Switzerland 07/04/1981 David Sanborn(as) Mike Mainieri(vib) Neil Larsen(keyb) Robben Ford(g) Marcus Miller(b) Ricky Lawson(dr) Lenny Castro(perc) Tracks 6-9:Live at Grugahalle, Essen, Germany 03/30/1985 David Sanborn(as) Mike Stern(g) Tom Barney(b) James Studer(keyb) Charles Drayton(dr)
