On January 9, 2024, just before all of his live shows were canceled due to his poor health, you can listen to a live performance at the City Winery in New York, recorded in full from the audience recording. The opening starts with Bob James’s masterpiece The Other Side, followed by the masterpiece Half Moon Lane, which was included in Michael Brecker’s album “Journey to the Holy Land”. Unlike Michael’s tenor, Sanborn’s alto plays this masterpiece. Michael Dees’ warm trombone is also featured here. In the second half of the live, Sanborn’s wife, Alice Sawyer, appears and sings “Jest Human”, which is included in the album “Quartet Human”.
