Description
This is a one-hour recording of a live performance at the annual “Jazz Stage Festival” held in Leverkusen, Germany on November 14, 2013, after the release of the album “Quartette Humaine,” a duo of B. James and D. Sanborn, who reunited for the first time in 27 years. The live performance was recorded in professional shot footage from the broadcast master. First of all, it was a project named after the album dedicated to Dave Brubeck and Paul Desmond, and the sound world created by the organic intertwining of Sanborn’s sax and James’ piano is breathtaking, with songs from that album as the main focus. In addition, Steve Gadd’s playing, which supports the bottom sound as in the album, is also wonderful, and this is a great performance reminiscent of the Tokyo Jazz Festival held two months earlier.
