Description
The latest live album of Dave Gilmore’s first solo tour in 9 years, “RATTLE THAT LOCK WORLD TOUR 2015/2016” has arrived. The other day, we delivered a preview show for 4,500 people, but this time it’s the audience album for the “September 14, 2015 Verona performance”, the second day of the main part of “RATTLE THAT LOCK WORLD TOUR 2015/2016”. The set list is the same as the preview show, but this time it was held at the outdoor venue “Arena di Verona” which can accommodate 1,6000 people. This arena venue is located on the site of an ancient Roman arena, and has been the world’s largest open-air opera venue since 1913. It is world-famous for the unique atmosphere created by the ancient Roman marble remains, which is different from many opera theaters, but that alone is not enough to make it a beloved music venue for over 100 years. What’s even more amazing is the acoustics, so much so that it’s said that you can hear the breathing on stage even from the backstand seats. The excellent acoustics are fully transmitted from this work. The musical tone is direct and the contours of each arpeggio note are outstanding, and although it is not very strong, it is hard to believe that it is outdoors. The rich, well-balanced, and extremely clear musical sounds from bass to treble flow into your ears, while the audience’s applause, chorus, and loud cheers are so majestic that you never know how far they will end. It’s a spectacle, as if 10,000 miniature spectators were crammed into a small hall. When the intro sound effect for “Money” sounds, the saxophone blow roars out, and the realism, proximity, and size of the roar… Because it’s such a large venue, it’s unfathomable by the common sense of audience recording. It’s a different level of ultra-high quality sound that you can’t even imagine the position. A concert held in such an acoustic environment truly depicts a musical world in which the music and the audience are one. In the new song from “RATTLE THAT LOCK”, which has not yet been released at this point, the audience, who were probably hearing it for the first time, were dominated by silence as they listened closely to every detail. Instead, in Pink Floyd’s repertoire, we walk together in a chorus that reflects the love of our lives. As I mentioned earlier, this “Arena di Verona” is a venue full of atmosphere packed with human history. The mood that surrounds the performance and the audience is clearly conveyed. How this work will be passed on to future generations will depend on future recording circumstances, but first of all, we would like to deliver to as many people as possible the “now” of Dave Gilmour, who has started for the first time in nine years. I would like you to experience it. That’s what this release is for. Since Gilmore declared that “Pink Floyd is over,” the performance that can be heard in this work is nothing but “that continuation.” Vast, intimate, and fantastical “high-quality sound from a wonderland.” We would like to present you with a magical live album that will enrich your long autumn nights.
